Biography

Cultural Anthropologist. Brand Marketer. Disruptor. I believe that incredible connections change the world. I got my start as an AIDS educator in the brothels of Thailand, helping turn former prostitutes into entrepreneurs. Today, I'm the 18-year founder of Emerging Media, an innovation communications consultancy dedicated to helping innovators and disruptors to create stories that get them the resources, runway, and recognition they deserve. Our award-winning strategies have gotten 10 companies acquired, and I'm focused on sharing them with the world. I speak to startups, innovators, and top executives from 60+ countries at Fortune 100's like GE, PWC, Deutsche Bank, Capital One and at global conferences, consulates and trade organizations about strategic storytelling, US market entry, and how to master the message and the media for maximum impact.

My passion is to ensure that every innovation reaches its market. I will not let any innovation fail because the innovator, product manager, CEO, or visionary can't tell the story around their innovation. By sharing the lessons of Innovation Storytelling, I show innovators how to tell their stories to get the resources, runway, and recognition they deserve.

Origin Story

What happens when your father was a Holocaust refugee and your mother was an unwilling member of the Hitler Youth Corps? You grow up living and hearing incredible stories of tolerance, resilience, revolution, and re-invention. My childhood began with disruption and a thirst to understand how stories shape our lives, from the battlefields of WWII to the jungles of Central America and the brothels of South East Asia. My studies in Anthropology and Religion, coupled with my passion for communications and molded me into a lifetime of creating stories that help people, companies, and products to transform through innovation storytelling. After helping hundreds of companies from 60+ countries, I've created a trademarked Innovation Storytelling blueprint to help any innovators break out of their scientific and technical roles and incorporate storytelling into their day to day lives. The result is a richer and more effective innovation agenda.
