Helping people be happy at work!
N/A
When I was 13, my friends had dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, teachers—even rock stars. But me? I wanted to work in human resources.
It started with my mom’s words: “Laura, this is the career for you. You get to ensure people are happy at work every day!" And unlike most childhood dreams, mine became reality. I spent five amazing years at Walt Disney World and another five at America Online, helping people find jobs they loved.
But everything changed during the AOL–Time Warner merger when I was tasked with delivering layoff after layoff—sometimes to friends, always to good people. After one especially hard day, I watched as a colleague walked into a room full of outplacement consultants. While they didn’t walk out happy, exactly, they did walk out with hope. That was the moment I realized: this is what I’m meant to do.
I founded The Career Strategy Group to help people through the hardest moments in their careers—with dignity, clarity, and heart.
