Biography

Emily Petroff is a powerhouse speaker who leaves audiences feeling lit up, deeply seen, and ready to take bold action. As a TEDx speaker, disruptive entrepreneur, and the visionary founder of Switch Society, Emily blends real-world innovation with raw, relatable storytelling. Her talks crack open conversations around authenticity, body confidence, sustainable fashion, and the power of creating what doesn’t yet exist.

What sets Emily apart is her ability to balance vulnerability with visionary thinking. She doesn’t just inspire — she transforms. Drawing from her journey as a founder who built a community-powered movement from the ground up, she connects deeply with audiences who are ready to rewrite the rules in business, leadership, and life. Her sessions are equal parts fire and grounding — always engaging, often emotional, and undeniably motivating.

Meeting planners love working with Emily because she brings both polish and presence. Whether she’s speaking on entrepreneurship, social innovation, or self-worth, she creates unforgettable experiences that spark real change.

Passion

Emily is passionate about helping people wake up to their own power — the kind that comes not from fitting in, but from showing up fully. She believes vulnerability is a superpower in business and in life, and she’s on a mission to help others reclaim their voice, rewrite outdated rules, and lead with intention.

Through her work with Switch Society, she’s built more than a sustainable fashion movement — she’s built a platform for radical authenticity and evolved leadership. Whether she’s guiding entrepreneurs, changemakers, or everyday disruptors, Emily’s passion lies in creating space for people to feel seen, valued, and boldly themselves.

She lights up when she sees someone realize they’re not “too much” — they’re just in the wrong room. And once they find the right one, magic happens.

Origin Story

I didn’t set out to start a movement — I just wanted to host a clothing swap. A fun little event where women could trade what no longer worked for them and maybe find something they loved. But what happened that weekend changed the trajectory of my life forever.

People poured in. Bags of clothing, arms full. I watched women laugh, cry, help each other, and light up in the mirror like they hadn’t in years. One woman told me it was the first time she’d felt beautiful since her divorce. Another said she could finally shop without shame. It wasn’t about the clothes — it was about permission, community and access.

That day, I realized: when we removed the barrier of money, something deeper unlocked. We weren’t just swapping shirts. We were trading stories, shedding old identities, and reclaiming joy. It was radical. And it was needed and it wasn't being done with the vision I was executing.

So I built a new kind of business — one that didn’t rely on selling anything, but instead focused on access, dignity, and self-expression. Today, Switch Society is a growing, membership-based fashion model that lets women shop freely, swap endlessly, and experience style without guilt or waste.

What started as one swap turned into thousands of lives impacted and a new way of thinking about fashion, business, and belonging. And now, we’re franchising this vision — because everyone deserves to feel good in what they wear and who they are.
