The topic of shame puts a smile on my face—not because it’s easy or light—but because I’ve learned that it’s the gateway to everything real. For so long, shame ruled my life quietly in the background, convincing me to shrink, perform, and disconnect. Talking about it now means I’m free.
It brings me joy because every time I name it, I dismantle it—not just for myself, but for everyone listening. I’ve seen the way people soften when they realize they’re not alone in the things they thought made them unworthy. That’s powerful. That’s healing. And honestly, it feels like rebellion and relief at the same time. So yes—shame puts a smile on my face, because what once silenced me is now what sets me, and others, free.
Most people know me as a therapist, speaker, and founder of Thriving Practice Academy—but what many don’t know is that I once quit the competition reality show Survivor (in 2023)! I walked away from the game—not because I couldn’t keep going, but because I realized I was performing a version of myself that wasn’t real. That moment, as painful and public as it was, became the turning point in my life. It cracked me open to a deeper truth: that shame thrives in silence, but authenticity is what sets us free.
Now, whether I’m on stage, working with clients, or training therapists, I speak from that raw, honest place—where vulnerability meets power. My work is about dismantling the shame stories we carry, and helping people come home to themselves.
I didn’t set out to become a therapist. I set out to survive my own life. Like many of the people I now help, I was searching—for clarity, for connection, for a way to feel at home in my own skin. Somewhere along that journey, therapy stopped being just something I did to heal—it became something I was called to offer.
I built my career on the belief that we don’t need to be fixed—we need to be seen. From sitting across from clients in the therapy room to speaking in front of hundreds, my work is rooted in authenticity, emotional clarity, and the courage to tell the truth. That’s what led me to found Rose Wellness and Thriving Practice Academy: to help others, especially therapists, build lives and practices that reflect who they really are.
