Biography

Jessica Lizel left the corporate world as an industry Accountant CPA to care for her mother, who had been living with mixed Dementia. Embarking on this overwhelming and often lonely journey, Jessica Lizel learned how to stop reacting to life and began living proactively before becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Wanting to keep her mother's journey from becoming one she would also have to navigate, Jessica dug in deep to discover key areas promoting prevention, from heritage to daily habits motivated by our inner parts.

Jessica speaks authentically about how reacting to life with Dementia destroyed their family relationship and shares the pain points others can learn to avoid. In her Keynote, Caregiving Reimagined, Jessica addresses what she learned from in-depth observation and research, which became her lifeline and material for her Signature Course in The Caregiver's Trinity.

The Caregiver's Trinity course breaks down the needs surrounding long-term financial planning, the four wheels for proactive lifestyle measures, and how spirituality ties it all together.

Jessica Lizel's Life changed drastically when she became her Mother's essential caregiver, which ignited a powerful transformation and passion for caregiver advocacy. Life will always have ups and downs with messy lessons learned, but we can choose a breakthrough over a breaking-down journey, which Jessica Lizel brings to light in a comedic, heartfelt, and inspiring way.

Best Story

Jessica Lizel ties challenging behavioral issues as her mother progressed through stage 5 of dementia to the importance of sexual expression. After worrying about her mother getting expelled from assisted living, Jessica fought for her mother's right to be a human being with natural urges, regardless of the silent killer that dementia becomes to indulge with technology in privacy.

Origin Story

While stressing about meeting monthly job deadlines and balancing care routines for my family and mother, one afternoon, frustrated at work, I said, "I wish I could leave this job to write for a living anywhere in the world while meeting Mom's needs. Have laptop, will travel." After listening to the Spirit within, I took a leap of faith to leave the corporate world to honor my mother and find a new way of living. During several months of panic, because I lost connection to a significant form of self-identity as an Accountant, I decided to create a company to make my wish come true regardless of the outcome.

Another leap of faith led me through several rabbit holes filled with challenges to push me out of my comfort zone; I found myself on stage practicing the art of comedy, improvisation, and motivational speaking with Toastmasters International.

My most excellent sense of accomplishment came six years into this transformational journey when other women told me they wanted to be like me. At that moment, the battle of silencing or befriending my inner critic, at the least, took a seat as I began to provide insight into what held me back before and how they, too, could become polished speakers and business owners.
