Building things and figuring out how and why things work
I always knew I wanted to start my own business. The catalyst to take action took place on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Staring at "what felt like the top of the world," I reflected on my journey to get there -- quite literally. The logistics of my trip planning process was so frustrating I decided to do something about it once I got home.
On return, I gave notice at work, packed my bags, and moved from Montreal to San Francisco to build a travel inspiration and travel planning web site. Once I arrived, I worked to find a tech cofounder, found investors, and built what became the 3rd largest travel map app on Facebook at the time. No journey is only smooth sailing, but every detour makes accomplishing the eventual goal that much sweeter.
