Biography

Sarah is the textbook Type-A-corporate-ladder-climber who realized it's nearly impossible to exist in the professional world unscathed by the brushes of burnout.

After 15 years working for the same company, starting as an intern and rising to Chief Marketing Officer, she saw burnout, disengagement, and lack of purpose as huge problems affecting not only herself but her colleagues as well. Just like being blonde and 5’1”, her identity was rooted in being busy. It was everything.

She started to realize that high-performing individuals were hitting all the marks on paper, but in reality, they were stressed out, unfulfilled, and so stinkin’ busy. She knew she had to do something about it. And if there's anything a high achiever is good at, it's creating more work for themselves. So she started a business SO Productive…then, co-founded another Super Productive.

Through interactive workshops, productivity consulting, and keynote speaking, she gut-punches corporate audiences with the truth about how productivity and purpose go hand in hand.

Best Story

Looking back now, I know meeting my husband was meant to be. Because his family was the exact type of family, I needed in my life. A family who says yes to the right things with conviction and heck no to the wrong things. In stark contrast to my upbringing of saying yes to everything and trying to please everyone. This family didn’t stress about this type of stuff. I had a lot to learn from them and, specifically, Charlie, my father-in-law.

Outsiders would call my father-in-law Charlie, lucky. But I knew his “luck” was that he never lost sight of his priorities, he said yes to the right things and doors opened. Like a snowball effect.

He said yes to Vietnam. He actually volunteered before being drafted so he could select a position in the army instead of being assigned a role. On leave from the army, he said yes to hitchhiking from one city to the next, following the Rolling Stones all over Europe. And yes to odd jobs along the way so he could afford a concert ticket and a meal.

One afternoon, Charlie came across a farm. He asked if he could sleep in the barn that night in exchange for a day’s work. Luckily, the farmer said yes. When Charlie returned to the states, he was at a house party talking with Barbara. She shared where she grew up. Her time was split between Pennsylvania and a farm in Cornwall, England. Charlie said, “I’ve actually been there. I stayed at a farm like that once in Cornwall. There was this guy there, Norman.” “That’s my uncle.” Charlie says, “No way. I have pictures up in my room. I can show you.”

Thinking their friends put him up to this, she suspiciously replies, “sure you do. Conveniently…up in your bedroom.” But eventually, she says, “yes I’ll go look at your photos.” As they page through his photo album together, in shock, she says, “That’s my family’s farm. I can’t believe you’ve been there.”

A few years later, Charlie said, “Will you marry?” And Barbara said “yes.” They said yes to the right things together for the next 30 years. One small decision at a time.

Was it Charlie’s luck or affinity toward saying yes? If there was a dance floor, he was on it. If there was a stranger in the room, he was meeting them. If there was a business opportunity, he was never too busy to consider it. Charlie was a living example of choosing what to spend his time on and saying yes to the right things.

Origin Story

I was a busy Chief Marketing Officer of an international brand, I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed! During my career, I was diagnosed with chronic insomnia. I would go four nights in a row with no sleep. I was also doing a ton of international travel at that time. One day I was sitting at the airport waiting for my flight and the woman next to me said "Where are you going?" She was just making casual conversation. But I responded with a blank stare. I had no idea. Business or vacation trip? I didn't even know. Was there a difference anymore? I literally didn't know where I was going. Something had to give!

So, I built the system, tools, and templates I needed to manage life as a busy CMO. Now, I share everything I’ve learned and created. I coach and train busy professionals on how to be more productive, have more confidence, have less guilt, and ultimately get back control of their time.
