Origin Story

From my Catholic school student days challenging stereotypes of girls, to my first job after college convincing nonprofits to engage youth volunteers, or my role as board chair of a global nonprofit attempting to transform the way we do international development, I've experienced the challenges of leading big change within established organizations. I realized, after doing it the hard way, that organizational change doesn't have to be as difficult or painful as we make it. As an “intrapreneur” myself, I've made all the mistakes you can make, learned lessons and solutions, and now share them with others.

Change Fatigue will Become Change Revolt. Unless Leaders Do This.

The past two years have felt like a period of never-ending change. And yet, the pace of change today is slower than it will ever be again. That means there’s very little time to learn about, adjust to, and adopt new processes and new ways of doing things. That puts a lot more pressure on leaders and teams than we’ve ever seen before. Change fatigue is turning into change exhaustion and, eventually, change revolt, stalling or even threatening your organization's vital mission.
In this session, the audience will learn:
• The signs and signals of change fatigue, change exhaustion and change revolt
• 5 psychological triggers that make change hard and what to do about them
• How to sustain wellbeing and shift from ambivalence to enthusiasm amidst constant change

Why Leaders Need to Operate More Like Indiana Jones: The Hidden Artifacts Undermining Your Change Initiative

This session leads participants on an "archeological dig." From hybrid work to DEI initiatives, organizational change is part of everyday life in 2022. To succeed at making change that sticks, leaders must find the "artifacts" that conflict with the change they want. Artifacts are the little things we leave behind that signal what matters, who and what we value and how things really get done. Participants will learn why artifacts matter, how to find them and what to do with them.
