I help people & teams explore the challenges they face & plan their next steps along the path of reaching their personal and professional goals.
Helping people get to an "a-ha" moment. :D
How I became a public speaker.
A visionary colleague once told me, "we all have something to learn, and we all have something to teach." This inspired me to use my voice and share what I've learned along the way in my career ... the good, the bad, and the ugly. I speak about what I've learned by failure more than anything. After all, failure is just a way to identify, "no, not that." With that knowledge, we should all feel more empowered to find the next thing that might work.
The most satisfying feedback I've ever received after a keynote presentation at a software testing conference was, "You changed my life and inspired me. Thank you!" This has continued to encourage me to keep speaking to this day.
After 40 years in IT in various industries (insurance, health care/hospital administration, accounting/finance, custom software development, commercial software development), I found my way to independence. I became an independent trainer, consultant, and conference speaker. The best and scariest thing I've ever done was go independent, but it's all been roses to be honest.
