Biography

Angela is originally from Tennessee and calls Boston, Massachusetts to be her home. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she earned a BA in English Literature and a BA in Psychology. After graduation, she began a 25+ year career as a professional fundraiser working in community-based and national nonprofit organizations and higher education. She has held several positions in the local philanthropic and nonprofit sectors—including eight years at Harvard University with fundraising positions at Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. She also served as an Instructor in grant writing at Harvard's School of Continuing Education. As an advancement professional, Angela has succeeded in raising millions of dollars professionally from the individual, public, and private sector donors for Harvard, Mount Holyoke, United Way, several community-based nonprofits.
Her non-profit management experience includes leadership positions at the Hauser Center for Non-Profit Organizations, United Way of MA Bay, and Associated Grant Makers. Each position gave her the chance to serve on national committees focused on fundraising and the philanthropic community.
Angela has long been an advocate for youth and families, education, and increasing diversity in philanthropy, especially among fundraisers. She is pleased to be back in Boston after spending a few years working in her home state of Tennessee and looks forward to contributing to the growth of the college.
