Biography

Our family moved from Miami, Florida in 1962 and I grew up in post-colonial Uganda, East Africa, where I attended primary school. The remainder of my culturally rich education was in Kenya until I returned to the USA to attend University.

I have spent decades studying and practicing the art and science of change and transformation. More recently, I became a HeartMath® Certified Coach and Trainer to add essential science-backed insights. I am a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and admitted to practice before the United States Court of International Trade.

For the past fifteen years, I’ve facilitated transformational retreats for professional women and workshops for international corporate clients, U.S. Government agencies, and international universities. I am an External Coach for McKinsey & Company, August 2022 -present.

In today's world, it is especially important that I bring my deeply wired global perspective and cultural appreciation everywhere I go.

Passion

Working with professional women to overcome work-life challenges and master their inner abilities to navigate and reach the summits of their vision, desires, and goals is where my passion lies.
My clients are high achievers who, in addition to their successes, are faced with increasing stress and overwhelm and have varying degrees of self-doubt. They want change and seek sustainable roadmaps, tools, and practices that help them transform their often out-of-balance lives into ones where they can thrive.

Nothing gives me more excitement than guiding them to reach where they want and need to be!

Best Story

The natural world -- and mountains in particular, are the source of some of my most uniquely profound personal and leadership development lessons.

Summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro at 19,341 ft after my second attempt, at the age of 60, gave me an extreme real-world experience of ‘failure and success’ and taught me how to help my clients take empowered action, overcome the obstacles before them, and reach their desired opportunities.

I have also hiked Machu Picchu, walked the 192-mile Coast-to-Coast trail across England in 13 consecutive days, along with other nature-based and cultural experiences, all of which taught me even more. I enjoy writing about these personal and leadership lessons in my blog and I am working on a whole person, leadership development book, targeted particularly for professional women, that also incorporates the above three adventures.

Origin Story

Once I was the little girl who lacked confidence, who felt awkward, and didn’t like to speak out.
Having moved from Miami, Florida at the age of nine, I integrated a colonial, British primary school in Uganda, where we moved in pursuit of my father’s teenage dream to live and work on the African continent. I was overwhelmed and unprepared.

Do you relate when I say that little girls often grow into women who struggle with navigating opportunities, overcoming obstacles and the feeling that they are not quite good enough?

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro twice, and in her wisdom, she helped me find my answers in exactly the same place I guide my clients to find theirs – within themselves.
I work with women, and their mountains. And I learned that to achieve your life’s personal and professional goals, you must climb it, to find it.
