Biography

After 25+ years of practicing law (the last 10 in-house), I left to join an event company called CenterForce USA. Centerforce develops and hosts conferences around the country on issues that concern female and minority leaders in the legal profession. There, I run the Diversity Division which includes speaker recruitment, creation of all content for the events, panel prep and on-site management of the Women in the Law Summit Series. I also moderate most of the panels before audiences of 150+ attendees. Prior to that, I spent 10 years as General Counsel at Great Eastern Energy, headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. I received my B.A. in Social Sciences from the Ohio State University, my J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University, and a Master's Degree in Energy Law from the University of Tulsa. I am a Member in Good Standing of the New York State Bar.

Passion

I have three great passions. The first without question is my family. I am fortunate to be in a loving marriage and have two amazing children. My two other passions are Native American causes and world travel. For the last six years I have been educating myself on Native history (the true history). These efforts include taking classes on Federal Indian Law, working with and mentoring First Nation undergraduates considering careers in law, and volunteering for a week on the Pine Ridge Reservation every summer. As part of my work with CenterForce, I am also looking for Native speakers for our panels. Their voices are sorely lacking when it comes to D & I. Regarding world travel, I will quote Anthony Bourdain, "Travel isn't always pretty. It isn't always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts. It even breaks your heart. But that's okay. The journey changes you. It should change you."
