I’m Erin Austin, a Harvard Law graduate and corporate attorney with 30 years of experience negotiating contracts and protecting intellectual property for organizations large and small.
I regularly present workshops, panel discussions, and lunch-and-learns for business owners, entrepreneurs, and founders. I focus on helping your audience learn game-changing strategies, insider knowledge, and professional skills so they can use their own intellectual property to make more money without trading more time and protect their expertise.
Some of the most recent topics I’ve taught on include:
✅ Intellectual Property:
Erin is an expert at helping entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants understand what intellectual property is, how to identify their own IP, and how they can use their IP to scale their business and create recurring revenue streams.
✅ Copyrights:
When you use your expertise to make money, it’s crucial to protect that expertise and make sure no one is stealing your stuff. Understanding copyright laws and protection is the best way to safeguard your content and make sure you’re not infringing on anyone else’s copyrights. With the uptick in AI usage, it’s also important that business owners understand how AI affects their copyright protection.
✅ Contracts:
All expert business owners use contracts and agreements in their business. Many business owners sign contracts without fully understanding what they are agreeing to or how much of their rights they are giving away. I’m passionate about giving business owners the knowledge and tools they need to understand each clause of a contract and to confidently negotiate their agreements.
✅ Artificial Intelligence:
AI plays a significant role in the content and work business owners are creating, and we can only expect this role to increase as the technology improves and expands. I help business owners understand the impact of AI on their copyrights and intellectual property, as well as the legal ramifications of different AI uses.

Let’s discuss the key intellectual property questions you are (or should be) asking when you think about growing your business legally, safely, and profitably:
-Audit: "Do I own what I think I own? And if I don’t own it, do I have the legal right to use it?" Make sure you have the legal rights to use the materials in your offers.
-Protection: "Am I doing everything I need to do to protect my ideas?" Safeguard your ideas from being used or reused by clients and contractors without your permission.
-Leverage: "How do I create income streams that don't require so much of my time?" Turn your ideas into scalable and recurring revenue streams.
If you provide services that involve the creation of original designs, strategic decks, creative briefs, positioning statements, brand architecture, taglines, verbal messaging, visual messaging, or logos, and you are considering using AI to create some or all of the deliverables…WE NEED TO TALK! Let’s uncover all of the legal traps involved with using AI to create client deliverables.
