Cynthia is internationally recognized as an influential Ph.D. focused on supply/service chain performance and business growth. Mixing industry, academia, and federal government experience, Cynthia consults, mentors, and provides training in performance strategy, supply/service chain innovation, and business transformation. Since 2001, her company, Process & Strategy, has been helping organizations increase volume, add competitive value, scale and grow successfully without chaos and with increased revenue generation.
Small businesses up through Fortune 200 companies, global investors, and financial entities rely on her to increase their understanding of the benefits, risks, and opportunities of today’s new digital business practices and when appropriate, integrating emerging technologies with buzzwords like blockchain, IoT, AR, and statistical data analysis. One such company recently almost tripled in value in 2 years and sold at $85MM.
Those same companies rely on her to optimize supply/service chains, innovate strategy, and elevate business valuations. She consulted and trained U.S., Puerto Rican, and European business units on: supply chain innovation, improvement of throughput with decreases in cost, and elimination of waste as part of a major global supply chain transformation to enable and support a $1.5 B biopharma company transformation in effectiveness and increased competitiveness.
Cynthia formerly commercialized advanced tech research for the Automation & Robotic Research Institute at UT-Arlington. Prior to that she was Head of Entrepreneurship for the Dept of Management and VP for a nanotech start-up.
For over 8 years, Process & Strategy held a strategic alliance with the Overseas Private Investment Corp’s Enterprise Development Program (OPIC) which allowed her to meet with emerging country ambassadors, government ministers including a deputy prime minister, and global investors to discuss economic development of small businesses. One of her projects, an Indian food safety initiative, was part of a portfolio of projects the U.S. White House brought to India for the 2010 Presidential trip.
Inside the U.S. government, she was a Professor of Industrial Manufacturing and Supply Chain Project Management for the Defense of Defense, Defense Acquisition University (DAU) where she led agile curriculum development teams and provided industry-based supply chain and operations training to the men and women of DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency).
She is a Master SCOR instructor and guest lecturer for universities such as UM-Boston, University of New Hampshire, and has worked with MIT’s Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence program.
Consulting/training clients include: BAE, Raytheon, Amgen, American Airlines, Lockheed Martin, Garrett Metal Detectors, Atlas Copco, Parker Hannifin, Sky Works, Philips, Microsoft, Community Coffee, Tea Forte, Forte Payment Systems, Lindt, Apple Computers as well as many smaller companies.
Cynthia received her B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from The University of Illinois – Urbana/ Champaign where her thesis work focused on robotics and digital control theory. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from UT-Arlington with a specialization in management. Her early industrial career started in manufacturing and process engineering working for large, multinational companies.
When my clients light up because they get it and can now implement effecitively without chaos. At that point, as a company team, they meet and beat whatever it is they set out to accomplish.
My clients tell it best:
"We were the poster child of an organization that grew too fast for our own good …[Cynthia] recognized many of our challenges and was able to guide us into and through the process of complete and absolute transformation of our organization; she led us through the intense and time-consuming process of creating a Strategic Map that ultimately launched the company to great success."
Challen Steere, EVP of Customer Relations (Operations), Forte Payment Systems
I went to college to become an engineer because I wanted to create the first bionic man (yes, TV has an influence on kids).
Being engaged in emerging bionics, solar design, architecture, digital controls, and robotics, I was able to integrate beauty with efficient productivity. Merge advanced tech (AI included) with deep experience from others. Recognize the importance of people in all phases of innovation.
Touring the facility for my very first job as an engineer, I told "we hired you to make our factory globally competitive". What a great first job.
I've been doing transformation work ever since.
No other strategic initiative requires the complex combining of hard engineering and data skills with the soft skills of listening, collaborating, cooperating, and communicating to completely change your supply chain and business innovatively, all at the same time.
As I learned during an engineering class that showed the exact same formula as a stock purchasing course in the business school, everything is integrated. And getting it all to work together creates possibilities beyond your wildest dreams.
