Through the eyes of a child survivor of parental kidnapping and fragmented family systems- A look back at a story of survival prior to the 1980 passage of the “Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act. Presenting a story of courage and resilience transforming trauma into teaching and helping others through their difficult journeys. Sharing the uncanny coincidences that occurred during my “lost and found days” and beyond. The story encompassing a total of nine marriages between parents, blended family issues half/step siblings, interstate living, different religions, mental health issues and attaining a unique perspective in multiple roles as an only child between my parents, and at times the youngest the middle and the oldest. Sharing insights into coping without resources, befriending oneself through the process and a life long desire to help others through the landmines of relationship changes. This resulting in a final coincidence on how I was provided an opportunity to teach my passion prior to any anticipation on how my entire life story wouid align with that opportunity.
A combination of personal and professional reflection on surviving parental abduction at a time when private lives were not discussed and legal processes were limited within the United States.
