Monique Rhodes has been studying happiness and practicing mindfulness meditation for over 20 years. However she is not your average teacher.
Monique hails from the beautiful little country at the bottom of the world called New Zealand. New Zealand is renowned as a culture of people who don't always do things by the book. Monique is no exception to this cultural trait.

Monique has performed to audiences of thousands all over the world as a professional musician and was even the opening act on two European Tours for music legend Chuck Berry. She has produced two platinum selling charity albums in New Zealand, was nominated for New Zealander of the Year, created an album with some of the most well known spiritual teachers of our time such as Thich Naht Hahn, Ekhart Tolle and Pema Chödrön (just to name a few) and has also worked on a long term music project with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
For 13 years she lived out a of a bag, travelled the length of India on her motorcycle, is one of only 8 westerners to ever perform in the tiny secluded kingdom of Bhutan (Mick Jagger was one of the other 8) and spent time living in the slums of India and then in a castle in Switzerland...and so many places in between.
Monique is someone who has lived her extraordinary life to the full and is in all ways an expert in how to break down personal limits and live a life full of possibility. Her program online mindfulness meditation program The 10 Minute Mind is used all over the world and is available for staff and students in every single college and university in New York City. Her course The Happiness Baseline has just finished it’s trials and has a 100% success rate in changing the happiness levels of the people who complete it - which is a staggering 92%.

Teaching through storytelling is the foundation of my talks. My favourite story is how, when I was 5 years old, I was seen as a naturally talented violinist. I have a very funny and inspiring story about how I went to see the top private teacher in my city who also thought I was very talented. However when she got me to sing she said "I've never heard someone sing so out of tune in my whole life!" I was tone deaf. Despite this, I worked extremely hard to over come my tone deafness and went on to be an internationally touring musician and singer.
I overcame an extremely difficult childhood. As an adult I studied thousands of books and teachers to try and discover the difference between people who are happy and people who are not in order to turn my life around. My teachings are what I learnt on this journey.
