Best Story

I nervously hung my New York City shingle by subleasing a 500sq ft office space that the regular doctor holding the lease was not using on evenings and weekends within 2 months my schedule was full. Within 4 months the other doctor sold her practice to me and within 6 months i was booked full. I have no special formula. I just thought about what i wanted from a primary care office and I figured out that millennials want better, more relevant primary care, that is designed for them.

Origin Story

I am an entrepreneur, a primary care physician, a wife and a mother of boys. I was raised in London, England by my grandmother who was a health fanatic (and inspired my interests in wellness and medical care) and her companion, who had mild cognitive impairments, but a heart of gold. I spent time with my mother who lived in London and passed on to me her passion for city life. My mother was a full-time carer for my half-brother who had cerebral palsy and severe disabilities from birth. Knowing my brother and seeing the way he changed my mothers' family changed my outlook in many ways and sparked interests in human rights, disability, accessibility, and general childhood development.

I moved to rural North Carolina at the age of 16 to live with my father and his family. My father founded and owns a large medical practice in North Carolina and through time spent with him, I became interested in business. My uncle and my step-father in England were also successful entrepreneurs in different industries and they inspired me to think big at all times and at all stages in life.

When I moved to New York for medical school I felt a sense I was where i was meant to be. I adore New York City and the feeling never gets old. I was not as passionate about medicine in the early stages, but found my niche in outpatient primary care. I love building relationships with patients and partnering with each one of them to reach their optimal health. I also love the business side of the practice and the journey from solo practice to a thriving 20-provider 5-clinic manhattan practice has been one of the most satisfying of my life.

I found the love of my life during medical training and married another physician who has a passion for academia and science but also enjoys entrepreneurial pursuits. He has a genetic retinal disease that causes him to slowly lose his vision, and he works in the field of clinical research in disability medicine, where he has reached a national and even international audience.
