My children are a great source of joy. Parenthood is the toughest job of all, but also the most rewarding. Every parent out there, take a bow. You constantly balance work, both inside and outside your home with the myriad needs of your children. That said, my other passion is travel, whether near and far, and connecting with people I meet, and hearing their stories.
More than 100 miles
Everything is negotiable
Best story? Hmmm. Not sure if I would call it my best story, but it's true. As a child I was so painfully shy, that I did not speak publicly in school until fourth grade. One kind fifth grade teacher was patient with my reticence, and slowly helped me find my voice, one of the most beautiful gifts I ever received. We all want to be seen, heard and recognized, even when we are afraid to show ourselves. Sometimes the kindness and encouragement of one person can make a difference in the trajectory of our lives.
I generally ascribe to the chaos theory of life! Seriously, it was difficult for me to pin down what I wanted to be when I grew up. One turning point was an internship at a major market radio station, as a news copy writer and audio editor. The creativity, the casual, yet mission-driven environment, the free concert tickets. That internship stoked a love of storytelling, and sparked a passion for broadcasting that lasted over 12 years, until I made the leap to full time voice actor and coach in 2005. Communication in all it's forms is essential to not only my work but my life. I take grate pleasure and gratification in helping other people develop powerful communication skills regardless of their backgrounds, or work.
