As we become increasingly invested in society’s, make-it-quick, just-a-click lifestyle, the price we pay rises. Although we can connect almost instantly with anyone, anywhere, our ability to doi so in a way that makes people feel valued and understood is fraying. Janet’s clients realize this is costing them professionally as well as personally. They come to her to change direction. In discovering practical skills that make the people they serve and work with feel valued and understood, professionals power up their ability to generate the likeability and trust that is critical to building business and careers. They understand that “All things being equal, people do business with and refer business to those people they know, like and trust.” Bob Burg and John David Mann
Janet’s clients learn skills that generate the likeability and trust in various situations: a business meal, networking event or conversation with a prospect for example. They discover that ease with social skills frees them up to give undivided attention to the people and conversation at hand. Their clients feel assured -they are dealing a professional.
It was time to redirect my career. I had spent 20 years in sales and public relations, primarily in the high-tech sector. My employers were employee-oriented and successful and my co-workers congenial, supportive and dedicated, However, I couldn’t sink my teeth into the chips and cables. So, I grabbed an opportunity to consult part-time an figure out my next move.
A single friend adopted a little girl whose life had been earmarked by neglect and abuse. I decided to celebrate this milestone with Royal Tea Party: the coronation of the new Royal Family. This grew into a birthday-party—the Coronation Tea –for aspiring princesses & knights ages 4-8. I wove table manners into the event. This piqued my interest in etiquette and led me to me to the Protocol School of Washington® for training, I began with only programs for children, My suite of programs now include programs for aspiring professionals (e.g college students) and young professionals who want to polish their presence.
