I will never forget sitting onstage during a production of Magic Flute at the Schubert Theater. The director had placed me seated at the lip the stage with my back to audience. The house was full, there were at least 1,500 people there. The orchestra was playing and the lead soprano was standing right in front of me. She was literally singing over the top of my head. There I sat with my back to the audience as I was forced to watch someone else live my dream.. I felt completely defeated. I decided right then and there that I was D-O-N-E. I had spent my entire life and hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to be a successful operatic singer and there I sat on the floor. It was in that moment I knew my life needed to change, that something else must be available to me. There was no way, no how I was going to spend the rest of my life feeling like a failure. I decided to take control of my destiny. I was going to search for a new dream and way to be successful. Never would I have imagined I could be so happy doing something other than singing. That was the beginning of my journey as an entrepreneur. Since that fateful day, I have learned that finding access to your inner voice is the greatest gift in the world. And when you have your inner voice, your outer voice becomes free and powerful as well. This is the work I do with my clients so they can take center stage and become stars in their own industries.

One of my first memories is of me sitting on the corner waiting for a friend to come and play. As I sat on the corner, I started singing and making up songs. And I remember thinking, "I wish someone would walk by, hear me and discover my talent!" It was way before American Idol. This was just an innocent, clear wish of a child. Funny, it's what all human beings want and try to get. My path was through music. I studied music from an early age and eventually ended up at the New England Conservatory to study opera. Because of all the competition, I developed body tension that effected my technique. I was determined and had talent though and eventually, I landed a gig as part of the professional ensemble for Boston Lyric Opera. However, despite trying many, many different things to release my tension, it still plagued me which stymied my success. After several years in the chorus, I left feeling defeated. I knew I must have something else to offer the world, but I didn't know what it was, so I went to a career counselor. When she told me about personal branding, I knew it was an exact fit for me. Branding is so similar to singing. You are trying to find your voice, choose the right niche/fach, tell your story in a compelling way, look the part, engage with your audience and stand out from the competition. Those were all things I had studied for years as a singer. knew I had found my next step. I got certified as a personal brand strategist and began working with clients. Those clients started getting amazing results like selling more, attracting better clients and making money speaking. I have continued this journey ever since, expanding my business and loving how people's lives transform as a result of our work together. I have also started singing again. Once I took the focus off me and put it on my clients, the tension in my body went away. So what I know for sure is this, when we show up to serve using our God-given gifts, the Universe aligns magic to happen.
