I supply programs that target, implement or promote; healthful products, programs and services
I love helping people, the outdoors, the ocean and my dog.
Several years ago I was approached by a woman who had attended one of my presentations. She said she regularly implements the tools that I had presented and she gets excellent results. Then she quoted exactly what I said right back to me, even though it had been more than 5 years since she heard it. I knew then that giving presentations was the best way for me to help people and organizations implement change.
I guess I was destined to work with people. Thinking back, before my head could reach the counter I waited on customers in my father’s jewelry store. Later when I went to college I worked in food service, waiting on customers and even cooking for them. When I graduated with a BS in Marketing I continued in the family business as I established my own catering company. During this time my personal interest in nutrition lead me to working with companies who needed to develop healthful recipes. I loved it, and ultimately I went back to school to get my MS in nutrition and became a registered dietitian. Upon graduation I secured a position in the corporate office of a major contract food service company working as their Wellness Coordinator for a 10 year period. During this time I worked with hundreds of chefs and company executives where I developed recipes, programs coordinated marketing promotions, worked on the companies Lighter by Choice program, slotted product, worked with schools on sports nutrition programs, and even worked with professional teams such as The NY Jets. In addition I gave hundreds of presentations that spanned to both business and industry and schools throughout the country.
In addition since I always loved working with and helping people I started a private practice and have worked with over 20,000 patients giving me the inside track of what the public is looking for. In my practice I discovered there were so many people with issues resulting from diabetes and unexplained health questions it lead me to become a certified diabetes educator and an expert in food sensitivities.
Although I enjoyed many career moves, my personal journey wasn’t always uphill during these years I had suffered tragedies, divorce, health issues and took a financial hit after 911 which cost me 75% of my business. With hard work I recovered but then there was a second major hit due to insurance company changes in 2009. I have worked my way through up’s and downs and have learned that the most important thing to remember is that is to keep moving during these times which takes you to a new place. Some of my career highlights include:
My cooking show for The American Heart Association for 5 years.
Development of multi million dollar programs and products including; Richard Simmons “Food Mover Program” as well as several of his cookbooks, recipes cards, website work and product materials. In addition I also wrote and contributed to several other celebrity health books and a diabetes program including Jorge Cruises 30 minute meals, DR. Vincent Pedres’ “Happy Gut”, and Kathy Smiths’ “Project U Type 2 Diabetes”.
I have also written 4 books on gluten-free diets and food allergies and have another book on setting healthful goals scheduled for release in 2018 .
I continue to counsel patients, work with food service organizations and manufactures as well as health oriented companies and manufacturers.
My Presentations Will:
• Give your audience healthful changes they can immediately implement.
• Show manufactures and restaurants the pulse on healthful trends.
• Implement and educate ways to save dollars and improve business environments implementing corporate wellness programs.
• Give healthcare organizations and medical practices ways to increase patient compliance with motivational interviewing techniques.
• Provide programs on how to overcome adversity.
I promise; humor, education and motivation in all programs.
More than 100 miles
I always get paid for speaking
