Passion

Helping others — entrepreneurs and organizations — grow their business through modern marketing strategies. Continually testing, improving, and optimizing enables us to learn and makes us all smarter and more effective. And, helping all women see their potential and strive to meet and exceed it and helping others recognize biases and achieve gender parity.

Best Story

When I was in high school, trying to decide where to go to college, I saw an athletic scholarship application form in the guidance counselor’s office and jokingly filled it out. I sent it in with all my applications, though I never thought it would come to anything. I wasn’t an outstanding field hockey player, but I figured, why not me?

My high school coach wrote me a glowing reference and I sent it along with the scholarship application. I wondered if there was really any money for solid, but not Olympic-level, field hockey players. I figured I wasn’t good enough, but if all it took was filling out a form, I’d be crazy not to try. Amazingly, a five-minute interview with the Syracuse University field hockey coach did the trick. I won it — the full, four-year scholarship! I was the first girl in my town to receive a full athletic scholarship.

For years, I thought I had been in the right place at the right time – the guidance office that day. But I’ve grown to realize I didn’t luck out — I chose. Choosing to take a chance on myself paid off. Since then, ‘why not me’ has become my mantra. I try to live my life with no boundaries and always ask, why not me?

Origin Story

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with learning and mastering new skills. I began my career in manufacturing. After the plant where I worked closed, I needed to find a new position. Since people had told me they thought I’d enjoy marketing, I looked into the field. I spoke to people in the marketing industry to find out what they did and what their work lives looked like. I was intrigued and made my move. As soon as I began working as a marketer, I knew this was where I wanted to be.

Over the years, marketing has transformed from traditional to digital methods which has opened up new possibilities for me and the industry. I’m always hungry to learn more so I’ve asked questions, listened to experts, and done my research. During my career, I’ve worked at some of the best B2B tech companies and have learned from the most talented people using the best tools. Marketing has become a blend of art, science, and technology that still embraces the human element. Once I began working as a marketer — helping businesses communicate their messages and prosper, I knew this was the place for me. I’m still happy I took that leap.
