Origin Story

I went through my own healthcare journey and years of un-diagnosis, dismissal, heartache and loss. With what I experienced, I got curious and was wondering what other women, particularly women of color might be experiencing in the medical system, as well as what care and support organizations were giving womxn and gender non-conforming peple to navigate their own healthcare needs. With this, Period to Pause was born.

The Uncomfortable Conversation: Managing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in an Ever-Changing Environment

We have had 8000 years of the patriarchy, and yet not much has changed in terms of opportunities given to women and underserved populations. The approaches to moving the needle on this subject seem to be outdated at best. We need to start to think about ways to dismantle a system that serves few. During this talk, we will get uncomfortable, with a view of challenging the status quo, and get people thinking differently about what matters to their organization and the people who work within it.

Exploring Business and Culture Through the Lens of Wine

In this talk, I draw parallels I've learned from working in the wine industry - side-by-side with winemakers, getting product onto shelves, tasting wines - to the issues we face in business every day. I break down some preconceptions and help the audience expand their mindsets to thinking about business issues in a new way.
- Approach business in a new way
- Proverbially "cleanse your palate" and approach a business issue with fresh eyes and clean-slate thinking
- Understand more thoroughly why culture and environment matters
- Explore new ways to leverage human capital and the unique DNA each person brings to your organization
