As Co-Founder and CEO of Fable Beauty and Fable Beard Co., Megan Gray has helped build a multi-million-dollar brand by transforming one idea into a storytelling-driven community that inspires deep customer loyalty. As a female founder who has successfully built large, loyal fanbases for the men's grooming and women’s beauty and wellness brands, Megan is a prime example of leadership and strategic growth. Based in Franklin, her experience navigating rapid business expansion while raising three children also resonates with women at every stage of their professional journey.
Entrepreneurship, family, creativity, and helping others believe that big dreams are possible. I love talking about building something from absolutely nothing, especially as a woman in a male-dominated industry. I'm passionate about creating brands that tell stories, building communities where people feel like they belong, and proving that you don't need investors or a traditional business background to create something extraordinary. I also love talking about motherhood and the beautiful chaos of raising three boys while building businesses alongside my husband.
I have so many stories I could tell, from building a multimillion-dollar business with my husband to navigating the beautiful chaos of entrepreneurship and motherhood. But one of the most powerful stories I could share has nothing to do with business.
When I was 27 weeks pregnant with our youngest son, Asher, I suffered a seizure that resulted in an emergency, life-saving C-section. Asher entered the world weighing just 1 pound, 13 ounces. In an instant, everything that normally consumed my thoughts, from running our businesses to managing everyday life, became insignificant. All that mattered was that my baby and I survived.
That experience completely changed my perspective on life, motherhood, resilience, and what it truly means to be strong.
As entrepreneurs, we're constantly talking about overcoming adversity, pushing through challenges, and refusing to give up. But nothing prepares you for the moment when your greatest challenge isn't saving your business, but fighting for your life and your child's future.
Today, Asher is a beautiful reminder that the greatest victories in life aren't always measured in revenue, awards, or accomplishments.
I love sharing how that experience reshaped my understanding of success, strengthened my faith, and reminded me that while we can build extraordinary businesses, the most meaningful things we'll ever build are the lives and relationships we nurture along the way.
My story is ultimately about resilience, perspective, and finding purpose in the moments that change us forever.
In 2018, my husband Collin and I set out to build something of our own. We didn't have investors, a massive team, or a roadmap to success. What we did have was a belief that we could create something different.
Our a-ha moment came when we realized that people don't just buy products. They buy stories, experiences, and a sense of belonging.
Instead of creating another traditional men's grooming company, we built Fable Beard Co. around characters, imagination, and community. We transformed everyday grooming products into an experience that customers could connect with emotionally.
As a woman helping lead a men's grooming company, I learned early on that being different could actually be our greatest advantage.
What started as a dream in 2018 has grown into two brands, Fable Beard Co. and Fable Beauty, with more than $20 million in lifetime sales, two appearances on the Inc. 5000 list, and a passionate community of customers.
And we've done it while remaining 100% founder-owned.
My journey has taught me that you don't have to follow someone else's blueprint to be successful. Sometimes the greatest opportunities come from having the courage to write your own story.
