Biography

As the founder of Visible Logic, I've provided brand strategy, logo design, web design/development and content marketing services for more than 20 years. I have a particular affinity for complex and specialized products and services so I work with mostly tech firms and industry experts helping them to distill their message.

Most recently, I've launched Branding Compass, a web-based application that helps small business owners discover the best visuals and words for their branding and marketing.

Passion

I like to help business owners learn how to make the benefits of their product or service understandable and appealing--the more complex the product, the better.

Best Story

Founders of high-tech businesses often convince themselves its OK to have marketing messages that are filled with technical language. The truth is that it's extremely difficult to get people to pay attention to you and learn about your product or service. Until you can make that message clear and easy-to-understand your marketing and sales efforts will continue to come up short.

Origin Story

I started my branding firm during the 2001 recession-- the day after 9/11. I was an accidental entrepreneur, but now have survived and grown for more than 20 years.

More recently, I launched my software startup because I recognized that too many small business owners had no way to do the important foundational brand development work.

I now sit in dual roles: as the strategic and creative lead at my agency and as the non-technical founder of a software company.
