Random Acts Story
As many of you know, I have a passion for eliminating random acts in business. While well-intentioned, random acts often steal our time, money, and strategic capacity.
Recently, I caught myself in one.
I took a phone call from a university with which I have a strong relationship. The young professional on the line was pitching an opportunity to support one of the university’s athletic programs. While we value the institution, we don’t operate in the sports space. It isn’t where our target market is, nor where we invest our time.
Still, I wanted to give him the opportunity to make his pitch.
When I ultimately said no, he asked a simple question: Why not? My answer surprised even me. I explained that supporting the initiative would be a random act for our company. As much as I would have liked to say yes, it wasn’t aligned with our strategy.
Even a seemingly small commitment, like sponsoring a university initiative, comes with real costs: developing creative, allocating time and resources, and diverting focus from priorities already in motion.
That moment was a reminder of how easily random acts show up in day-to-day decisions. I encourage leaders to reflect on the random acts they encounter and ask whether those choices truly serve their strategy.

Game Changers Story
Whether raking leaves, shoveling snow, or going door-to-door selling The World’s Finest Chocolate, I learned early on that to create business value, you first need to create customer value.
By the time I joined Junior Achievement, I had developed a strong sense of customer centricity; not the idea that we should cater to every customer’s whim, but the understanding that customers must be at the center of business decisions to create meaningful and lasting value.
Those early experiences shaped how I think about growth today. Sustainable, long-term growth doesn’t come from chasing trends or reacting to every request. It comes from consistently focusing on the customer and making deliberate choices that serve them and the business well.
You may recall similar early lessons from your own life. As you reflect on your work and leadership, I challenge you to consider where you can be more customer-centric—where creating more customer value can lead to enduring business value.
Laura began her career in the financial services industry in the 1970s as a customer relationship manager, embracing customer-centricity from day one. Her corporate journey included a 14-year tenure at Motorola, where she launched industry-standard products and championed segmentation strategies that fueled growth. In 1999, she founded VisionEdge Marketing to help companies worldwide accelerate growth through data-driven, customer-focused strategies.
Keynote Session
Are you ready to break free from stagnant growth and finally outpace your competition?
Profitable and sustainable growth is harder than ever, and leaders everywhere can feel it. Many organizations, whether start-ups or mature enterprises, find themselves stuck despite investing significant time, money, and energy. The frustration is real. The pressure is real. And the cost of standing still keeps rising.
Why does this happen?
Too many organizations rely on outdated strategies or fall into the trap of random acts of marketing, sales, and innovation. These reactive, fragmented efforts feel busy, but they lack alignment, clarity, and purpose. They don’t compound. They don’t scale. And they don’t deliver measurable results.
Random acts don’t build competitive advantage.
They drain resources, erode confidence, and delay progress when leaders can least afford it.
This signature keynote program introduces four essential Game Changers that move organizations from randomness to results. Each Game Changer is designed to help your business replace noise with clarity, embed intentionality into every decision, and align teams around what truly drives growth.
Customer-centricity must be more than a buzzword; it must become a belief system. This Game Changer shows leaders how to embed customer focus into the DNA of the organization so that every decision, initiative, and investment starts and ends with customer value.
Data-Driven Decision MakingWhen growth is on the line, guesswork is expensive. This session focuses on using data with discipline and purpose, empowering leaders to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources with confidence, and pursue opportunities that produce measurable impact.
Purposeful, Aligned StrategiesFragmentation creates friction. Misalignment creates chaos. In this Game Changer, leaders learn how to replace siloed activity with purposeful strategies that unify teams, clarify priorities, and ensure every action supports a shared vision.
Performance Systems that ScaleGrowth requires momentum, and momentum requires structure. This Game Changer focuses on building performance systems that sustain progress, amplify customer impact, and create a repeatable, scalable path to success.
Organizations that embrace these Game Changers don’t just grow faster, they grow stronger. They build resilience, sharpen focus, and consistently outperform competitors. This program is delivered as a high-impact keynote session or an interactive workshop, allowing participants to apply these principles to real-world challenges and leave with clarity they can act on immediately.
