A few years before I opened Apollo Sunrise Center, a woman came to see me who looked like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She sat down across from me and before I could say a word, she whispered, “I feel like I am disappearing inside my own life.”
She told me she had an important decision to make about a new job, but she could not move forward. She felt torn between what she wanted and what she believed everyone else expected from her. You could see it in her eyes. She was exhausted. Not from the decision itself, but from abandoning herself over and over again.
So I asked her a question that came through very clearly in that moment.
I said, “If you could quiet everything around you for just a few seconds, what does your inner voice say before fear steps in and tells its story?”
She went silent.
Her chest rose and fell.
And then she just cried.
Not because she did not know the answer.
But because she did.
She had known it all along.
She finally said, “My inner voice already chose. I have been too afraid to listen.”
That moment changed her.
And it changed me.
Because it reminded both of us of something powerful.
Intuition is not dramatic or mysterious. It is the truth inside you waiting for even the smallest moment of quiet to be heard. And when you hear it, everything becomes clearer.
She took the job.
And a year later she told me, “That was the moment I came back to myself.”
That is why I do this work.
To help people remember that their inner voice already knows the way.
Apollo Sunrise Center began with a quiet vision that came to me during meditation. I saw a place where people could reconnect not only with themselves, but with each other. A place where community, connection, cooperation, and communion were not just ideas, but lived experiences. At the time, I brushed it off as a beautiful fantasy. Something my heart wanted but my mind insisted could never happen.
But the vision would not leave me. Every time I worked with someone who felt alone, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their life, I felt that same image rise again: people gathering, sharing, healing, remembering who they are together. It became clear that we are not meant to do the hard parts of life in isolation. We are meant to support one another, learn from one another, and rise together.
Years later, out of nowhere, the perfect space appeared. When I walked in, it took my breath away. It was everything I had seen and somehow even more. It felt like a place that was waiting for all of us. A place where people could arrive exactly as they are and be welcomed into something larger than themselves.
That is how Apollo Sunrise Center was born. Not from strategy or planning, but from a vision that refused to let go. From the belief that healing is more powerful when it is shared. And from the hope that when people come together with openness and intention, something extraordinary happens.
