Passion

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and women's health. PCOS affects 10-20% of all women globally and has a 70% misdiagnosis rate to this day! Knowing PCOS Sisters Telehealth has delivered care to so many women that would otherwise never be diagnosed and likely misdiagnosed or suffering for years to receive a diagnosis. It takes on average 3 different doctors and over 2 years to receive a diagnosis for a hormonal condition that often results in obesity, infertility, and diabetes contributing to an 8 billion dollar annual financial burden in the U.S alone.
Watching just how far we have come considering women were not required to be included in research studies until 1993! Realizing that the changes we as women have fought for in the past decade of women's healthcare will be remembered in history and PCOS Sisters was part of these changes that have improved the lives of women from now into the future of modern medicine.

Best Story

Personal Lived experience of "medical gaslightling": When I first started showing signs of PCOS, I was ignored and told nothing was wrong even though I was experiencing scalp hair balding, cystic acne, and facial hair at age 18. I was told PCOS only happens to obese women so you cannot have it or even if you have PCOS its a fertility issue and you aren't having kids now so come back when you want to get pregnant. Women's health in the early 2000s was very much focused around your ability to reproduce and nothing more. We now know half of women with PCOS develop diabetes by age 40, PCOS is the #1 cause for infertility, we have 19% increased risk for cardiovascular event, and 80% of us are overweight or obese. Its not just a matter of pregnancy....PCOS effects our quality of life.

Origin Story

I struggled with PCOS myself throughout my 20s unable to find anyone who would even test a young girls hormones much less knew how to treat PCOS. Flash forward nearly 10 years later and I realized women were still being ignored and experiencing "medical gaslighting" by their doctors telling them there was nothing wrong. During the pandemic, I started utilizing telehealth and realized wow telehealth can really help women with PCOS that are waitlisted 6 months and traveling hours to see a PCOS Specialist. I founded PCOS Sisters Telehealth Clinic & Wellness Center in 2022 and expanded from Florida to 11 states by 2025, still growing every year! Women with PCOS now have same day visits and lab diagnosis with treatment starting within 2 weeks of first visit.
