Biography

Linda Grizely, CFP® is a financial wellness speaker who partners with organizations that want to reduce the costly impact of employee financial stress in order to improve focus, engagement, and retention.

Through her human-centered approach to money, Linda helps audiences bridge the gap between financial knowledge and real-life decision-making. Her programs go beyond traditional financial literacy to explore the behavioral, emotional, and practical realities that shape how people earn, spend, save, invest, and plan for the future.

Linda speaks to employees, ERGs, associations, HR leaders, and leadership teams on topics including workplace financial wellness, employee financial stress, financial literacy, behavioral finance, budgeting, cash flow, investing basics, retirement readiness, money mindset, and the connection between financial confidence and organizational performance.

Her signature programs include The Human Variable™: Financial Wellness, Reimagined; When Money Walks Into Work: The ROI of Financial Well-Being; and The MeMoney® Method: You Can’t Build a Life You Love on a Budget You Hate. She also offers engaging financial wellness seminars, personal finance keynotes, money mindset workshops, and practical financial literacy talks designed to meet audiences where they are.

Blending professional expertise with lived experience, Linda brings a practical, compassionate, and judgment-free voice to money conversations. Her perspective is shaped by what she calls her “many financial lives” — becoming a mother at 16, navigating years as a stay-at-home mom, rebuilding after divorce, returning to school later in life, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees as an adult, and building a career in financial services. She understands what it feels like to be overwhelmed, behind, starting over, and uncertain about money, because she has lived those seasons herself.

That experience led her to create the MeMoney® Method, a personality-driven framework that helps people move away from guilt-based budgeting and toward more intentional, values-aligned financial decisions. In 2026, MeMoney® was named a finalist for a Money Awareness and Inclusion Award.

Linda is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional with a master’s degree in financial services and a dual-major bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and Marketing. Her background spans holistic financial planning, leadership, business strategy, marketing, human resources, nonprofit consulting, association leadership, and sales.

Linda’s financial wellness insights have been featured or quoted in CNN, MarketWatch Picks, Realtor.com, Yahoo Finance, MSN, AOL, GOBankingRates, ThinkAdvisor, and WSJ Buy Side. She is the host of the Real Money, Real Life® podcast and a frequent guest on podcasts focused on money, mindset, leadership, and personal growth.

Linda has been recognized with the Circle of Excellence by Women in Financial Services in 2023, 2024, and 2025, the Women of Achievement and Charlotte Danstrom Award from Women in McHenry County, and is a contributing author to the bestselling books Lessons From Thought Leaders, Becoming Your Best Self, and WHEN Stories Vol. 3.

Passion

My passion is helping people and organizations rethink their relationship with money and with themselves.

I believe money should feel human, accessible, and judgment-free. Too many people carry financial stress in silence, believing they should already know more, be further ahead, or have it all figured out. That stress shapes how they show up every day, at work and at home, often without them realizing it.

What drives me is helping people feel seen, heard, and equipped to make clearer, more confident decisions about money and life. I’m especially energized by the moment when money stops feeling overwhelming or shame-filled and starts feeling understandable, manageable, and human.

Whether I’m speaking to employees, leaders, ERGs, associations, or women navigating pivotal seasons of life, my work is about creating clarity, restoring agency, and replacing guilt with confidence.

Financial wellness isn’t just about numbers. It’s about identity, choice, resilience, and the freedom to show up fully. Helping people reclaim their voice, their value, and their next right step is what fuels everything I do.

Best Story

One of my favorite stories to share is my face serum story, because it captures what I mean by The Human Variable™.

For years, there was a face serum I loved but would not buy for myself. I would put it on my birthday and Christmas lists, and if someone else bought it for me, I could receive it. But I could not give myself permission to buy it.

So instead, I would buy the less expensive version. Then another one. Then another one. Over time, I realized I had spent about a hundred dollars trying not to spend a hundred dollars.

On the surface, that looks like a small spending decision. But underneath, it was my money history and money personality running the show. I had learned to be careful, responsible, and practical. Those traits can be strengths, but when they run on autopilot, they can also create guilt, self-denial, and decisions that do not actually make sense.

The turning point came when I looked at the serum samples I had been rationing and realized: the only person saying no to me was me.

That story is one of the reasons I do the work I do today. Financial wellness is not just about knowing what to do with money. It is about understanding the person making the decision: their history, identity, emotions, habits, and beliefs.

That is The Human Variable™. And when people begin to see it, money starts to feel less like a test they are failing and more like a set of choices they can make with clarity, confidence, and intention.

The funniest part? It took me using my own MeMoney® Method to finally see it.

Origin Story

After leaving a high-paying corporate role in financial services that looked great on paper but did not align with the life I wanted to live, I found myself at a crossroads.

I explored opening my own registered investment advisory firm again, but something did not sit right. I did not just want to manage money or build financial plans. I wanted to change how people experience money.

I realized I was being called to serve the person I used to be: capable, hardworking, and responsible, yet still feeling behind, overwhelmed, and unsure where to start. Not everyone is ready for ongoing financial advice or asset management. But many people are ready for clarity, confidence, and relief from the stress money creates in their lives.

That realization shifted everything. I began focusing more deeply on financial education, speaking, and human-centered financial wellness: meeting people earlier, without judgment or pressure, and giving them language, tools, and frameworks they could actually use.

Today, my work bridges both worlds. Through Linda Grizely Ventures, I speak, teach, and partner with organizations to help people understand how money stress shows up, why it matters, and how to create healthier, more sustainable relationships with money at home and at work. Through my advice-only financial planning work with Nectarine Financial, I also help individuals and families who want personalized guidance, whether hourly, ongoing, or by the plan.

At the center of all of it is the same mission: to make money feel human, accessible, and judgment-free.

Example Talks

The Human Variable™: Financial Wellness, Reimagined

SIGNATURE KEYNOTE - FINANCIAL WELLNESS FOR YOUR PEOPLE

The most powerful factor in financial wellness isn’t the numbers. It’s the person behind them.

Format:  Keynote (30–60 min) | Virtual or Live | Conference Main Stage | Corporate Events | Industry Associations | ERGs | Employee Events | Professional Development Programs

This program is perfect for:

•     Organizations and associations ready to rethink financial wellness and why their current approach may not be working

•     Leadership teams that want to reduce financial stress while strengthening focus, performance, and engagement

•     Professional audiences navigating high responsibility, decision fatigue, and economic pressure, regardless of income level

•     Conferences exploring leadership, resilience, advancement, or workplace well-being

•     ERGs and employee groups looking for a financial wellness experience that meets people where they are, not where the spreadsheet says they should be

The audience will leave with:

•     A clear understanding of how money history and personality type shape every financial decision, often without awareness

•     The ability to identify the hidden behavioral drivers behind financial stress, including money personality types and the “shoulds” keeping them stuck

•     A reframe of financial wellness from a discipline problem to a design problem, and the confidence that comes with that shift

•     A new way of thinking about money that makes every financial decision going forward feel more like a choice and less like a struggle.

Description:

We have more financial tools, apps, and information than any generation before us, yet financial stress remains one of the most persistent pressures in modern life.

Why? Because financial wellness has been built around numbers, rules, and discipline while ignoring the most powerful factor of all: the human operating system.

In The Human Variable™, Linda Grizely reveals how identity, money history, and emotional conditioning shape every financial outcome and why no spreadsheet or budgeting app can fix what is fundamentally a behavioral problem.

This keynote reframes financial wellness as a behavioral competency. When strategies are designed around who people really are and take into account how they think, respond under pressure, and make decisions, stress shifts into strength.

When Money Walks Into Work: The ROI of Financial Well-Being

SIGNATURE KEYNOTE – FINANCIAL WELLNESS AS A LEADERSHIP ISSUE

Format: Keynote (45–60 min) | Virtual or Live | SHRM & HR Conferences | Corporate Leadership Events | Industry Associations | Women’s ERGs | Executive Retreats

[Watch on YouTube: Speaking Clip | When Money Walks Into Work: The ROI of Financial Well-Being | Linda Grizely]

This program is perfect for:

•     HR leaders, people managers, and organizational decision-makers ready to address financial stress as a performance and culture issue, not just a personal one

•     Leadership teams where disengagement, distraction, or retention challenges may have a hidden driver no one has named yet

•     Conferences and events focused on employee well-being, workforce performance, DEI, or the future of work

•     Organizations that have financial wellness benefits in place but aren’t seeing the results they expected

•     Any audience where leaders are responsible for the whole person, not just the job title

The audience will leave with:

•     A clear understanding of how employee financial stress shows up at work, and why it’s being misread as a performance, attitude, or engagement problem

•     A new lens for evaluating the real cost of financial stress on productivity, retention, and culture, including data that makes the business case impossible to ignore

•     Insight into why most financial wellness programs fail to create lasting change, and what moves the needle

•     Three leadership shifts that help organizations stop treating financial stress as a private problem and start addressing it as a shared one

•     Language and a framework to bring this conversation back to their teams, their HR strategies, and their leadership culture

Description:

Employees don’t leave financial stress at home. They bring it into every meeting, every decision, every interaction, often without saying a word. And leaders, without a framework to recognize it, keep misdiagnosing the problem.

According to Morgan Stanley at Work’s State of the Workplace Financial Benefits Study (2026), more than half of employees, 56%, say financial stress negatively affects their work. That’s not a personal problem. That’s an organizational one.

In this keynote, Linda Grizely, CFP®, makes the case that financial well-being is not a perk, a benefit checkbox, or a personal responsibility. It is a leadership issue, and one of the most underleveraged levers in workplace performance today.

Drawing on behavioral finance, real workplace stories, and data that connects financial stress directly to productivity, retention, and engagement, Linda gives HR leaders and organizational decision-makers the framework they’ve been missing: not just awareness, but a credible, strategic path forward.

This is not a financial literacy talk. It is a workplace performance, culture, and retention conversation, and it starts here.

Burdened: The Hidden Cost of Financial Stress in the Workplace

SUPPORTING SESSION FOR KEYNOTE: When Money Walks Into Work: The ROI of Financial Well-Being

Format: (45–60 min) | Virtual or Live | Conference Breakout | Strategic Planning Retreats | HR & People Leader Training | Leadership Development Programs

This program is perfect for:

•     Leaders and managers who suspect financial stress is affecting their teams but don’t have the language or framework to address it

•     HR professionals building or evaluating employee wellness and EAP programs

•     Organizations experiencing higher-than-expected turnover, disengagement, or burnout without a clear cause

•     Any leadership audience ready to look beneath surface-level behavior and ask harder questions

The audience will leave with:

•     The ability to recognize how financial stress shows up in the workplace, not as money conversations, but as distraction, irritability, disengagement, and risk aversion

•     An understanding of why even high earners carry financial stress, and why income alone is not a predictor of financial well-being

•     A framework for distinguishing financial stress from performance issues, and why getting that wrong is costing organizations more than they realize

•     Language to begin normalizing financial well-being conversations inside their teams and organizations, without overstepping or assuming

Description:

Financial stress doesn’t announce itself. It shows up as the meeting where someone couldn’t focus. The decision that got delayed for no clear reason. The high performer whose energy shifted and no one could explain why.

Leaders are trained to read behavior, but most have never been taught to look beneath it. The result: financial stress gets misread as attitude, disengagement, or a performance issue. And the real problem stays invisible.

In Burdened, Linda Grizely goes beneath the surface to reveal how money pressure shows up in the day-to-day reality of work, and what it quietly costs organizations that aren’t paying attention. According to SoFi’s Future of Workplace Report (2024), 1 in 3 employees say personal financial stress inhibits their ability to focus on their job, and employees spend an average of 8.2 hours per week stressing about finances during working hours. And the stress runs deeper than most leaders expect: according to the Harris Poll’s Income Paradox Survey (2025), nearly 1 in 3 six-figure earners say they are financially stretched, struggling, or drowning, and 64% say six figures is no longer a sign of wealth but survival mode. This is not an income problem. It is a human one.

Audiences leave this session with sharper eyes, better questions, and a new understanding of the burden beneath the behavior.

Unburdened: How Financial Confidence Strengthens Engagement, Retention, and Results

SUPPORTING SESSION FOR KEYNOTE: When Money Walks Into Work: The ROI of Financial Well-Being

Format:(45–60 min) | Virtual or Live | Conference Breakout | Strategic Planning Retreats | HR & People Leader Training | Leadership Development Programs

Best paired with: When Money Walks Into Work as the keynote that opens the conversation and Burdened as the introductory session that helps leaders recognize the hidden problem before moving into strategy.

This program is perfect for:

•     Leaders and HR professionals ready to move from awareness to action on financial well-being

•     Organizations evaluating or redesigning their financial wellness programming and wanting a strategic framework, not just a list of vendors

•     Leadership teams that want to connect financial well-being directly to engagement, retention, and performance outcomes

•     Conferences focused on the ROI of people investments, benefits strategy, or the future of workplace well-being

The audience will leave with:

•     A clear understanding of why financial well-being is a strategic business lever, not a compassionate add-on

•     Data connecting financial confidence directly to engagement, retention, and productivity, and the language to make that case internally

•     A framework for evaluating what effective financial wellness support looks like, and why one-time seminars and generic tools fall short

•     Practical next steps for building a culture where financial well-being is normalized, supported, and sustainable

Description:

Awareness without action is just weight. Unburdened is where the strategy begins.

This session picks up where Burdened leaves off, moving from what financial stress costs organizations to what financial confidence builds. Because when employees feel financially grounded, something measurable happens: focus sharpens, trust deepens, engagement rises, and people stay.

The data makes clear why this matters. According to the Bank of America 2024 Workplace Benefits Report, 83% of employees say they would feel more committed to their company and more likely to stay if they had access to real financial wellness benefits. Not a seminar. Not a PDF. Real support.

And yet, according to SoFi’s Future of Workplace Report (2024), 76% of HR leaders say their employees’ financial well-being is good, while only 59% of employees agree. That gap is where your retention problem lives. It’s where your engagement problem lives. And it’s where too many resignations are quietly written.

Most organizations are delivering financial information when what employees need is personalized support. There is a difference between the two that changes everything about whether the investment works, and most HR leaders have never had a framework for telling them apart.

In Unburdened, Linda Grizely connects financial confidence directly to business outcomes, giving HR leaders and decision-makers a clear framework for evaluating what they have, understanding what’s missing, and building support that reaches people.

Audiences leave thinking: We can fix this. And here’s exactly why it’s worth it.

Debt Made Clear: Understanding What You Owe and How to Pay It Down

PERSONAL FINANCE – FINANCIAL LITERACY

Debt can be a tool, a trap, or a turning point. And because debt is one of the biggest sources of financial stress, understanding how it works can help people make decisions with more clarity and less shame.

Format: Program (45–60 min) | Virtual or Live | Lunch-and-Learns | Webinars | Breakouts |Custom Sessions

Part of a complete series: Stands alone or as part of a complete financial wellness series. In an ideal engagement, this program is one session in a full financial wellness strategy for your people.

This program is perfect for:

• Employees who feel overwhelmed by credit cards, loans, or monthly payments
• Anyone who wants to understand the difference between revolving debt, installment debt, and other common types of borrowing
• Workplace audiences seeking practical, judgment-free education around debt, credit, and payoff strategies
• Organizations looking to reduce financial stress by helping people understand the true cost of debt
• ERGs, EAPs, and teams looking for a clear, shame-free conversation about a topic many people avoid

The audience will leave with:

• A clear understanding of the different types of debt, including revolving accounts, installment loans, student loans, mortgages, auto loans, and personal loans
• A plain-language explanation of how interest works, how compounding can work against you, and why minimum payments can keep people stuck
• A more nuanced understanding of “good debt” and “bad debt,” including why the real question is whether the debt supports or strains the life someone is trying to build
• A comparison of common debt payoff strategies, including the snowball, avalanche, big rocks, and equal distribution methods
• Confidence to choose a debt payoff approach that fits their numbers, motivation, cash flow, and real-life circumstances

Description:

Debt is one of the most common sources of financial stress, but most people were never taught how it actually works.

This session breaks debt down in a way that is clear, practical, and shame-free. Participants learn the difference between revolving accounts and installment loans, how interest adds up, why minimum payments can be so costly, and how to think about debt beyond the oversimplified labels of “good” and “bad.”

Linda also walks through four common payoff strategies: the snowball method, which builds momentum by starting with the smallest balance; the avalanche method, which focuses on the highest interest rate first; the big rocks method, which targets the debts causing the most stress or creating the biggest monthly burden; and equal distribution, which spreads extra payments across multiple debts.

Rather than prescribing one “right” way to pay off debt, this program helps participants understand their options and choose a strategy that fits their financial reality, motivation style, and season of life. The goal is not shame. It is clarity, control, and a path forward.
