THE HERO WITHIN

Who we are and what's available to us is hidden behind a curtain of assumption and personal history making us blind to the choices we have. Without awareness we live our lives through a chain of reactivity, following the footsteps of what we're told is best for us, staying quietly in the comfort of the familiar. What breaks us out of this pattern of our lives? and how do we shift gears to live from the wholeness that we are?

I was catapulted out of my comfort zone when I learned that my dad that raised me wasn't my biological father. Feeling deeply betrayed, my identity shattered, sending me into strife, uncertainty and pain.

The first phase of dealing with this was escaping the pain with drugs, sex, and distraction. I did all I could not to feel, to disconnect and stay numb. Eventually, while slumped on a couch in a drug induced moment  I experienced what's described as a moment of clarity where I saw myself standing over me saying "what are you doing? This isn't who you are."  This question sent  me on a search to answer- who am I?  I desperately wanted to know and could feel intrinsically that it would relive the deep pain I was experiencing so I left my home, family and friends in search of the real me.
After a few years I found myself in LA, suicidally depressed and disconnected from the life I had built and loved in Seattle. In a desperate act to return to any joy I joined a yoga practice my friend had gotten into hoping it would alleviate my pain.  I became immersed in the practice which claimed to deliver enlightenment and everlasting joy. Turns out it was just another set of external conditions to fulfill- being perfect in this way will give you what you seek. Another denial of self and truth boxed in the guise of spirituality.   That practice reinforced a belief that I don't know for myself and need something else to tell me what I need, want, love, etc. Something felt really wrong about that... But I was young and naive and I kept at it because I was desperate. Shortly after beginning the cult-like yoga practice I joined an Aikido dojo, I was immediately magnetized to this practice. It felt like home. Contrasting the rigidity of Kundalini I felt the truth of the Aikido messaging, - the power lies within us. Not just metaphorically but physically. Being on this committed and windy search for myself I would investigate the success I would have on the mat in Aikido and what was actually happening in those moments. Why in one moment would I succeed at evading a man four times my size, with what seemed like magic, and why would I sometimes fail?
Here's what I learned.. We all inherently are powerful but that we dysfunctionally, and by design, give away our power. We give our power away in service to our unconscious belief structure, our delusional safety. Our true freedom comes in owning ourselves and creating a life that reflects who we feel we are behind the pain that we carry.
So how do we do that? We first identify that we want it. That what we are seeking for is actually the truth of ourselves, the part of us that drives our desires, passion and loves. We then deconstruct everything that isn't that essence by identifying the limiting beliefs and patterns that unconsciously exist within.
When you do that, you start to take ownership of your life and your creations and learn the ability to choose and create what actually matters to you.

True innovation through Embodying our True Nature

Why do humans suffer?

We’ve forgotten that we’re human, let alone human being. Our bodies have been made into mechanized objects for thought transportation. We’ve forgotten that each cell, each pulse, the liquid crystalline matrix of our fascia was designed to move and express. With each iteration of our ownership of land our soul, our essence has been lost in production and efficiency. We’ve forgotten that we’re nature. That the application of our ability to comprehend is meant to be in service to stewardship of land, of connection and of creation. Not consumption and destruction. We’ve been trapped in a cultural narrative that disregards the magic that is woven throughout our flesh and blood. That we must do, achieve, and conform to have value or be safe. We’ve been told that 1 in 10000 of us might be genius, when in fact we’re all born of genius. We embody our true nature into our form as we build our body from embryo to baby and then life, expectation and assumption pattern it out of us. We’ve forgotten that we don’t just have body, but are body. That the frequency, form, structure, resonance, experience, and history live within us, and as us. That the memories we hold in our bones transcend generations and not only that, but time and space. We believe over powering or conquering form and matter is how we assert our brilliance in the world, when in truth the source of our being, the place where each soul emerges from the one, the infinite, the nothingness is where true power resides. And in each of us lives this longing to be the power we feel exists within. The home that we all came from. The expression of our innocence our connection to everything through all time and space. Our true nature longs to be embodied. As it was in the creation of our bodies our form in time and space. But in an unspoken agreement of life on earth, of having the experience of separation we get hardwired into us the blueprint of limitation, and as all things in duality that limitation comes paired with suffering. Neither of these orientations are destined for our lives, but they are default. Our true nature is all powerful, and is always present, but is masked behind the illusion of belief. So silently our unconscious beliefs paint our experience, our thoughts and feelings across what is. Trapping us in a pattern of repetition, our personal self-made prison. Creating a seemingly inescapable reality.
