I love meeting inspirational and creative individuals, people who overcome adversity, people who won't accept society's expectations of them. My focus is on infusing creativity and enjoyment into everything one does, lifelong learning, and living one's best life.
When I lived in Brooklyn in my 30s and shared an apartment, on the occasional Friday or Saturday night when my apartment mate and I had nothing else going on, she and I would head out to an Irish pub on 4th Avenue where the music was good, the drinks were reasonable, and the crowd was fun.
One such evening, when we were each talking to different groups, she slipped away from hers, came over to me and said, "Carol, see that guy over there in the blue shirt?"
I looked over and nodded.
"He was asking about you. I told him you're with the CIA. Play along with me."
That true story is the start of my presentation on overcoming the Imposter Syndrome to achieve your goals and be your best, most empowered self.
On a number of occasions throughout my career, I've asked myself, "If you could do anything you wanted, what would it be?"
The answers to that question have always led me on a path of self-discovery and learning, ultimately leading me to the things of which I'm most proud: producing a Telly Award-winning cable show called CONVERSATIONS WITH CREATIVES, becoming Editor of a weekly newsletter for empty nesters, writing, and producing a book of humor and inspiration called LAUGHING WITH THE GODS, and producing a podcast series called THE PINK CHANGE PURSE, focused on "Possibilities, Opportunities and Empowerment for Women."
