Alicia Couri is the CEO of Audacious Concepts Inc., a leadership advisory firm that specializes in de-risking high-value executive hires, and accelerating their 'Time to Impact' in a new role. Alica has spoken on many prominent stages, including TEDx. A certified consultant with Kolbe and Predictive Index she speaks to areas of misalignment in leadership and on teams using data and brain science tools. Her proprietary APEX90™ Leader Acceleration Launchpad equips new executives to create early wins, build trust, and accelerate execution. Audiences leave with practical tools to reduce friction, retain top talent, and deliver measurable results within 90 days of stepping into a new role.
I’m passionate about personal development that translates into measurable results. I combine brain science with people data (Kolbe, Predictive Index) to help clients understand themselves at a deeper level, align strengths to roles, and execute with clarity. Through strategy, consulting, and coaching, I turn self-awareness into performance.
For decades, I've had a fear of being seen and sharing my voice, which was ironic because for years, I coached others on confidence. It all came clearer when I kept turning down a national pageant invitation. The truth? I was afraid of being judged. By year three, I recognized my resistance and said yes and entered the pageant. I took the time to craft a Power Persona (Alter Ego), practiced, and at 50 won my very first pageant.
What did that chapter reveal?
-Identity precedes performance. Who you believe you are shows up before you speak.
-Cadence creates courage. Small, repeated reps under feedback reduce fear faster than pep talks.
-Support systems scale confidence. You don’t rise to the moment; you fall to your routines.
Today, based on many of the lessons and strategies I learned from that experience, it has become the backbone of the APEX90™ to address the challenge leaders experience in their first 3 months in an executive role. When leaders step into new roles with heavy scrutiny and short runways, we give them a clear identity anchor, an operating cadence, and support structures that turn early days into early wins.
At three, I was bold, audacious, and outspoken. At four years old, two defining moments rewired me. My mother cut my hair off because she said it was as unruly as I was; the result, strangers began referring to me as a little boy. The second moment came when my family left Trinidad for Australia. Total culture shock! New accents, new rules, no familiar faces. I learned fast that being different attracts attention. So I made myself small to try to disappear. For decades, I softened my voice, shrank my dreams, and hid in plain sight.
By the time I was in my 40s, I made the decision to rediscover the little girl I’d abandoned. I chose visibility on purpose, one brave rep at a time. I rebuilt my confidence, stretched past discomfort, and kept saying yes to rooms that once scared me. I earned certifications in brain science and people-data tools, and shifted my work from the beauty industry to corporate consulting across tech, construction, PE Firms and finance.
Today I help leaders and teams do the same: stop shrinking, stand in who you are, and turn self-knowledge into execution. This is Audacious Confidence®, rooted in identity, powered by brain science and people data, and proven in the moments that matter.
Nearly 50% of executive hires fail within the first 18 months, and the cost isn't just financial. Misaligned expectations, unclear team dynamics, and lack of early wins erode trust, delay progress, and quietly drain company culture. In the food industry and other fast-moving sectors, a failed leadership transition can stall innovation, damage morale, and lead to costly turnover at multiple levels.
Too often, onboarding is treated as a checklist instead of a strategic handoff. The reality? New leaders need more than orientation; they need alignment, they need context, they need early traction, and they need a win playbook. This session explores four essential steps every organization must take to ensure executive leaders land well, lead confidently, and deliver impact fast.
You’ll learn how to identify hidden friction points, realign teams to a shared understanding of what’s needed, and build a blueprint for trust and execution within the first 90 days of onboarding. Whether you’ve onboarded dozens of leaders or are preparing for the next big hire, you’ll walk away with a clear roadmap to prevent stalled transitions and turn high-stakes hires into high-impact results by speeding up "Time to Impact".
During this interactive session, we'll dive into the neurological strengths that make you a great leader, and explore how you can cultivate those qualities in yourself and others.
Through engaging stories and practical examples, you'll learn how your brain operates, and some of the missing opportunities for greater self-awareness and development right under your nose. We will also give you the tools to become a leader who inspires others to be their best selves.
There’ll be opportunities to connect with other attendees, share insights, and brainstorm strategies for nurturing other leaders.
Our breakout exercises are designed to spark creativity and encourage reflection. Discussions on the qualities that make a great leader who nurtures others, and opportunities to brainstorm practical strategies for creating a culture of growth and empowerment in your own workplace.
By the end of this talk, you'll understand what it means to be a super-hero leader who nurtures other leaders, and the tools and strategies to start putting that knowledge into action.
