Then one day, someone asked me to consult on a tricky "HR situation" with an employee—and it was then that my HR consulting career was born...

This presentation will review 10 actionable ways businesses can prevent unwanted HR situations – from ensuring they have up-to-date and accurate job descriptions, learning what they need to know to keep out of risky situations when it comes to employment law, how to successfully navigate tough workplace situations, and more!

Navigating Tough Conversations... Without Feeling Like a Jerk!

The session will start with attendees being prompted to question their beliefs when it comes to having tough conversations. The presentation will immediately then dive into tips and techniques for building trust and how to be more aware of body language in a tough conversation, as well as ‘inviting in’ vs ‘shutting out’ language. Attendees will learn our Expedition HR 5-step formula to handling tough conversations as well as a 3-prong approach to those steps. The presentation will close with preparing attendees for the “What Ifs” for when a tough conversation doesn’t go as planned and other phrasing tips for successful interactions. The presentation will be accompanied by a Worksheet.
