Biography

Cheryl Tan is a former TV news anchor and Executive Communication Advisor. She helps business leaders and executives build the visibility their work deserves.

Cheryl's "'Voice & Velocity' Model" is a system that addresses the #1 challenge for busy experts: how to leverage AI for velocity (speed) without sounding like a robot.

She teaches leaders the human-centric skills of on-camera connection, storytelling, and authority that AI cannot replicate, turning their expertise into their most powerful business asset.

Passion

Cheryl believes everyone has a story to tell, and her mission is to help leaders tell their stories better on video.

Best Story

I met Nicole on stage at an event where I was the emcee. She was a fantastic speaker and spoke with such confidence in front of a live audience. It was during a break when I learned that her confidence didn't translate to being on camera.

In fact, video terrified her. That is, until we started working together and I helped her think quite differently about the power of video.

I showed her how to speak with confidence on camera, ways to deliver a message, what to say, and what not to say.

I'm happy to say that after working together, getting comfortable on camera, and using video strategically, this one client rose to a very high level within her organization. She has since left that firm and is now CEO of another one. She credits the rise in her career to the videos she created while we were working together.

Origin Story

It was 7:25 a.m. on a February day in 2014 when I thought, "I can do more." I was anchoring a morning show at the time. The feeling didn't go away after that day. In fact, it grew stronger. That's how my company started.

At first, I helped companies with PR. Then the video revolution happened. I shifted to helping executives and organizations use video for marketing and outreach.

Times have changed, and I've changed with them. What hasn't changed is the importance of pivoting, showing your value, and using video to do it.

My company has evolved, but our mission stays the same: helping leaders communicate better and attract new opportunities.

From that early morning realization to now, it's been quite a journey. And I'm excited for what's next. Because there's always more we can do.
