As the founder of a children’s brand dedicated to fostering friendship, connection, and self-acceptance in young girls, I create resources that inspire confidence and compassion. Through engaging books, hands-on activities, and relatable characters, I’m committed to equipping girls with the skills to navigate friendships and embrace themselves.
As a public speaker, I blend humor, insight, and raw honesty, drawing on personal stories that audiences of all backgrounds can connect with. From the unexpected adventures of attending welding school to working for a summer at Club Med with no knowledge of French to the universal lessons of handling life’s embarrassing mishaps, my talks resonate with anyone who values real connection. I also share personal accounts of overcoming hardships, demonstrating how vulnerability and resilience can turn life’s challenges into meaningful bonds with others.
I’m passionate about overcoming adversity and embracing authenticity. With a wealth of personal experiences in handling life’s more embarrassing moments, I’ve learned not to take myself too seriously, and I share how this openness builds true connection. I believe that authenticity requires a willingness to be vulnerable—to reveal our imperfections and even our clumsiness—and I love bringing that side of myself to others.
My favorite story is the one where I discover my superpower. I start by asking the audience: "If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?" Then, I share my sixth-grade experience—when I wet my pants during a school production in which I had a starring role. But here’s the twist: the next day, I went back to school, held my head high, and realized I had survived what I thought would be the end of my social life. That’s when I discovered my superpower: the ability to face embarrassing moments and come out unscathed. Knowing I can survive what feels like the worst gives me courage in the face of life’s challenges. That kind of resilience, I’ve learned, is real power.
The inspiration for my brand came one day while I was volunteering at my daughter's school. During lunch, I noticed troubling interactions at a nearby table—two girls subtly intimidating another while the lunch staff remained unaware. I realized this type of hidden cruelty was far more common than we think and rarely noticed by adults. I felt compelled to do something to address it, and I knew that creating relatable characters could be a powerful way to share messages of friendship, connection, resilience, kindness, and, ultimately, acceptance. That’s how The Breadcrumbz came to life—characters who leave a trail for girls to follow, teaching these critical skills and helping bridge the communication gap with parents and caregivers.
The urgency of this mission became deeply personal when my youngest daughter, after developing a chronic medical condition, faced severe bullying herself. I watched as she lost friends, grew to dread school, and battled growing depression and anxiety. Witnessing her struggle drove me to start speaking directly to parents, teachers, administrators, and counselors about this epidemic of social cruelty among girls and how often it goes unnoticed. I now openly share my journey, the suicidal ideations of my daughter, and the profound importance of connecting with girls during these pivotal stages. This work has become my mission, one girl, one connection at a time.
