Jen Patenaude is the founder of Jennifer Eve Wellness. With a passion for guiding entrepreneurs and busy executives to their best selves, she specializes in transforming sleep from a mere afterthought to the cornerstone of peak performance and wellness.
As a sleep and wellness coach, Jen has seen firsthand the power of restorative sleep in unlocking one's full potential. Her mission is to help driven individuals harness that power.
Through personalized sleep strategies that slide seamlessly into a packed schedule, Jen will show you how reclaiming those precious hours of rest is not just possible, but essential.
Beyond the coach, she’s a mom, a wife, and your biggest cheerleader. When she’s not decoding the mysteries of the circadian rhythm, you can find Jen snuggled up with her dogs, cheering on her kids at their sports games, or losing herself in a good book.
I help people with simple, effective strategies to improve their sleep quality, reduce stress, and embrace health and wellness as a lifestyle.
I BELIEVE we have control over our health.
I BELIEVE small changes create huge impact.
I BELIEVE optimal health starts with sleep.
So I'm on a mission to put people to sleep!
Seventeen years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Sjogren’s Syndrome.
I didn’t know what was going on with me. I thought my whole head was going to shrivel up, it was so dry. My eyes felt like someone was rubbing them with sandpaper. I couldn’t eat anything without washing it down with liquid or the food would get stuck at the top of my throat.
I went to the emergency room at one point because both sides of my face along my jawline completely swelled up. I had flashbacks to my 18-year-old self getting my wisdom teeth out. The ER doctor was bemused and thought I was an “interesting case”. Super helpful, doc.
When I finally received the diagnosis, it was such a relief. But I was told it’s a chronic disease that can never be cured, may progress, and was prescribed a couple of medications and told I would have to take them for THE. REST. OF. MY. LIFE.
That was not ok.
In that moment, I felt broken. What did I do? Why is this happening to me? I have two young children at home and a career, and suddenly my future is so uncertain.
But I didn’t have time for self-pity. I decided my symptoms were manageable and there was no need to make any major disruptions to my life. Just take the meds and keep going. Sure, I was fatigued, but with two toddlers and a full-time job I didn’t have the bandwidth to worry about it.
So I adapted. I managed. I certainly wasn’t thriving.
Fast forward to January of 2020, and I learned I could do something about it. And I started studying to become a health coach for my own health journey but to also help others. And there was suddenly this light at the end of the tunnel.
And, in fact, I had to start putting into practice what I was learning a few months later.
I have this silly kitchen mishap and cut my finger. Turns out it’s not so silly after all, because I’m already compromised. I end up on two separate courses of antibiotics and develop all these difficult symptoms, like visible skin rashes and irritation.
But I knew from my health coach training, that the traditional medical system wasn't going to be able to truly help me. I was going to need to figure this one out on my own. So I said to myself, “I have to do something different, so I can take care of myself.”
I had a hunch about what was going on, did some research and made some significant changes to my nutrition and lifestyle.
Simple changes. Not necessarily easy, but simple. Within a week, my symptoms started to disappear. Rashes gone. Within two weeks, I had even energy throughout the day and was feeling great.
But when I looked around, I noticed that other people making similar changes weren’t getting similar results. And I realized their missing puzzle piece, that I already had in place, was sleep.
You can be the cleanest eater on the planet, do seven HIIT workouts a week, alternate between cold plunges and the sauna all you want. But if you are not getting proper sleep, you will not thrive in health.
