Who am I really?
- At the intersection of authenticity and connection - that’s where you’ll find me.
- I am a human dedicated to giving myself and others more permission to Be. More. Human. Both personally and professionally.
- I am a container creator of safety, inclusion, and empowerment. Whether 1:1 or for a group of 100, I facilitate a space for folks to lean in, show up, and leave the space eager and dedicated to their growth.
- I am someone who feels deeply and cares even deeper, committed to coaching heart - centered leaders, meaning those who are dedicated to seeing people at the core of any chance of a successful team or business - starting with themselves and influencing outward.
- I am your biggest cheerleader and greatest reflector, helping you uncover your own wisdom within you.
- I am an experienced storytelling coach - teaching 1:1 or small groups how to use the power of storytelling to invoke more creativity and confidence in their personal and professional worlds
- I am the founder and host of Words from Within - classes held using writing as the tool to get away from the act of performing and tapping into the art of being.
- Remember that part above about me feeling deeply? Welp, shocking then that I am a poet and author of the book of poetry called “From Burn to Bloom” exploring themes of self discovery and resilience.
- I am a big fan of sharing plates because to taste just one meal feels wrong. I am an explorer of US National Parks - I’ve visited 39 of the 63 with the help of my other love of my life, Babs, my ol’ reliable converted short bus. If I'm not on the road or traveling, you’ll probably find me on a walk with my beloved partner and our little brown dog, coffee in hand and pointing out every flower, bee, or pretty leaf along the way.
Anything centered around what I call "Heart centered leadership" - Leaders (and that includes individual contributors) who hold themselves at the intersection of emotional intelligence and business strategy, knowing that when we have our humans at the center, the business flourishes alongside the humans creating a company culture of empathy, collaboration, and psychological safety.
I joke to people that I was born in a bubble, but came out of the womb with a pair of scissors in my hand with a life mission to pop that bubble.
For the majority of my life - I was living a double life. One where I had to be “good” and “perfect” and make my family proud, yet having this fire of freedom in my belly burning more as I grew up.
Meaning, I’ve always had this hunger for the world. For people. For belonging and what that means or takes to truly experience. And as I became brave enough to live a whole life, an authentic life, it changed the way I showed up in my work. I noticed that the more I was myself in my work, the better I would perform. I noticed around me the leaders that modeled that same behavior, their teams would show up more collaboratively, elevated, and motivated. I also saw leaders who wanted to show up that way, but were never taught what vulnerability and heart - centered leadership looks like in the corporate world.
So now, by "day" you will find me as your “corporate cheerleader”. I coach leaders who are brave enough to want to show up authentically, give others around them permission to do the same for themselves, and who put the human and their hearts at the core of the business.
You’ll find me speaking and facilitating - committed to creating containers of safety where folks can lean in, learn, and improve themselves both personally and professionally.
By "night", I am a deeply creative person. Although I didn’t believe this about myself until fairly recently.
I carried the narrative for the majority of my life that I couldn’t be a writer if I didn’t have a degree in literature. I couldn’t be a poet if I didn’t know how to rhyme. It wasn’t until I was 29 years old did my love for writing and poetry ignite.
Now, I’m a published author of poetry. I teach classes helping others put their inner critic to the side and tap into their creative unconsciousness through writing. I coach individuals and teams on how to invoke more storytelling and creativity into their work. I host storytelling events to provide my community space to share their stories to an audience, being held in safety, empowered to speak in public, and tap into a deeper sense of humanity by sharing (info: https://lnkd.in/g8d68DTD).
I love my work and I love my passions, but my heart lives fullest in the life I live with my partner, our little brown dog, my little green converted bus, Babs, who takes me on my bucket list to visit all US national parks (currently 40 of the 63 😏).
If I’m not with them, I’m adventuring somewhere - discovering new places, doing a happy dance while trying new food, and falling in love with people every day.
