Dr. Kasi Lacey is not your typical speaker— With a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a talent for turning insight into action, she empowers women (and the organizations that support them) with strategies to lead with clarity, emotional intelligence, and courage. Her work spans Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, universities, and conferences nationwide, constantly leaving her audiences with a renewed sense of possibility and the confidence to take the next bold step.
A seasoned executive and leadership coach, psychologist, and former C-suite leader, Dr. Lacey brings over 15 years of experience helping organizations create sustainable, healthy cultures and high-achieving women step into their full power. But what truly sets her apart is how she blends science and soul, weaving psychology, personal stories, and just the right amount of humor to create a room where people don’t just listen, they lean in.
Whether she's sharing the moment she fought for her seat at the leadership table or breaking down the psychology of confidence with practical, no-fluff tools, Dr. Lacey doesn’t just talk about transformation. She sparks it and will be the speaker that no one forgets.
I am determined to use my personal experiences and professional background as a psychologist to teach organizations how to create healthy, high-performing, sustainable, and thriving teams and cultures. Additionally, my mission is to help high-achieving women say farewell to people pleasing, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome, and lead with authentic confidence. I want my daughters to grow up in a world where workplaces are psychologically safe and they see confident, healthy leaders (especially more women in leadership positions).
When I was 16, I moved out on my own with very little in terms of resources but a big determination to create a better future for myself. Ten years later, I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology—something I’m incredibly proud of because it was proof of my resilience and grit. But as I moved forward in my career, I began to realize something: while I was determined to work hard and succeed, I was also unintentionally holding myself back.
One of the most defining moments in my career came when I applied for a C-suite role in an organization where I had worked for years. I poured everything into that application, but I didn’t even make it to the final round. Later, I found out that the role was essentially reserved for a male hire. That knowledge stung. Deep down, I questioned whether I belonged at that level of leadership. Looking back, I realized I wasn’t just facing external barriers—I was letting doubt and fear keep me from fully advocating for myself.
When the position opened again a few years later, I was ready. I stepped into one of the scariest meetings of my life with the President of the organization and advocated for myself—something I’d never done with such confidence before. I explained why I was the right person for the job, and this time, I got it. I became the first female Vice President at the institution, breaking a barrier I had once thought was impenetrable.
That experience taught me something critical: confidence isn’t just about how you feel—it’s about what you do. Sometimes, we hold ourselves back in ways we don’t even realize, but when we choose to bet on ourselves, incredible things can happen.
Now, I help other women uncover how they may be unintentionally holding themselves back, build unshakable confidence, and advocate for themselves unapologetically. Because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that you belong at the table—you just have to claim your seat.
My journey began with limited resources and a hidden biracial identity. At 16, I moved out on my own, navigating challenges that shaped my resilience and determination. I went to college, studying psychology and went on to earn my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, at just the age of 26, driven by a passion to understand and empower others.
Throughout my career, I’ve shattered glass ceilings and fought for my seat at the table, becoming one of the only female Vice Presidents at my institution, for several years, and working tirelessly to elevate women in leadership. These experiences were my “aha” moments—realizing that confidence, authenticity, and psychological safety are the cornerstones of thriving workplaces and transformative leadership.
I founded H & L Legacy Consulting to help organizations and high-achieving women build unshakable confidence, develop authentic leadership skills, and create thriving, inclusive environments. Through coaching, keynotes, and workshops, I’ve had the privilege of empowering others to lead boldly, navigate challenges, and create lasting impact.
