More than 100 miles
Everything is negotiable
When Sarah, a seasoned technology leader, came to me, she was ready to leave her industry. Despite exceeding targets, she felt overlooked and undervalued – her ideas ignored in meetings, only to be celebrated when repeated by others. Three promotion passes later, she was working 70-hour weeks trying to prove her worth.
Using my RISES framework, Sarah learned to embrace her authentic leadership style rather than "toning it down." Within six months, she got promoted and is passionate about developing other high-potential women leaders. Her transformation shows what's possible when women leaders stop trying to change who they are and instead amplify their authentic voice, proving my father's wisdom that "there's always a way around the mountain."
What Do You Do When Leadership, Inc. was founded out of my desire to help women leaders advance in the workplace. As an internal coach within IBM, I coached mid and senior level leaders to be high performing leaders. After leaving IBM, I started working as an external coach for other companies and realized that some of the basic leadership skills and competencies that I expected leaders to demonstrate, I realized they had not had the opportunity to develop. So, I founded What Do You Do When Leadership out of a need to help women develop those skills needed to advance in the workplace.
A dynamic 45-minute keynote that transforms how women leaders navigate workplace challenges. Through powerful storytelling and interactive exercises, the presentation introduces the RISES framework: Resilient Authenticity, Intentional Executive Presence, Strategic Brand, Engaging Relationships, and Sustainable Self-Care. Using the metaphor of mountains to represent common leadership obstacles, the talk provides practical strategies for overcoming barriers while remaining true to one's authentic self. Drawing from real-world examples and research-backed insights, this engaging presentation equips women leaders with actionable tools to amplify their impact and advance their careers. The talk concludes with a powerful call to action, inspiring leaders to find their way around any mountain they encounter.
