Amber Anderson is the Head of Learning and Leadership Development at a global CRO, founder of Amber Anderson Coaching, and creator of The Alchemist Leader Lab (TM) where she provides leadership development and coaching specializing in empowering empathetic and sensitive leaders to navigate the challenges of burnout, self-doubt, and overwhelm. With over 20 years of experience as a learning and leadership effectiveness executive, Amber combines neuroscience-based strategies with her expertise in leadership development and coaching to create lasting change in leaders and a positive ripple effect throughout their teams and organizations.

I finally landed in Munich after several delays and a whole lot of worry about whether I’d arrive in time to teach my workshop to our organization’s top leaders, only to find that my luggage had not arrived.

I had no choice but to facilitate a full day leadership development session called Immunity to Change in a bright green brewery t-shirt, black joggers, and sneakers. I will never forget that outfit or that day. It was the day I was forced to let go of perfectionism.

The learners and I had a lot of laughs about my predicament and how it related to the topic at hand. They found it especially funny when our brand-new President of Europe decided to pop in to say hello. It was my first time meeting him and I was basically wearing pajamas. It was humbling, to say the least.

It was also a powerful reminder that while not ideal, if your message is meaningful and you deliver it was passion, confidence, and maybe a little humor, your participants will get what they need. Maybe even a little extra with the example that perfectionism is not required to make an impact at work.

Origin Story

Several years ago I held a self-crafted senior leadership position at a Fortune 500 "World's Most Admired" company, traveling globally to train and coach our top leaders. It was my dream job – until it wasn’t.

As a passionate advocate of Servant Leadership, I misinterpreted "putting others first" to mean putting myself last. This common misconception led to severe burnout and my eventual resignation, with no backup plan.

This experience was the catalyst for establishing by business, Amber Anderson Coaching, where I help leaders prevent and heal burnout through my signature Alchemist Leader Model, which balances self-leadership with servant leadership. The model combines Mindset + SootheSet™ + Skillset tools, enabling leaders to maximize their impact in a way that is authentic, joyful and expansive, creating a positive ripple effect through their teams and organizations.
