Origin Story

Dr. Nicole is a compassionate neuroscientist, author, meditation teacher and international speaker on topics of neurodiversity, neurodevelopment, creativity, mental health, and wellness. Most importantly, she is a human being just like you—learning the best ways to PRACTICE and ACT from love. Dr. Nicole loves working with all kinds of people, from those in a corporate setting looking to increase creativity and positive leadership, to meditation retreat participants who are stepping into greater peace and opening their hearts into deeper love.

It was her mom’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) that first propelled her to study and research PD, launching a lifelong dedication to broad scientific training in neuroscience, physiology and behavior at UC Davis, UCLA and Caltech. As Dr. Nicole's mom’s illness progressed, she found science had its limitations and began to seek ways to manage her suffering, especially the fear of losing her mom. It was then that she found her home in ancient Asian meditation practices, which transformed her experiences with suffering. Dr. Nicole learned that when she silenced her mind, allowed her fear to rise and fall away and then opened her heart—there was love. It was through these practices that she first began to wire her mind for love.

Now, as the founder of Awesome Neuroscience, I have combined my expertise and dual passions into unique offerings of meditative practices backed by modern neuroscience. I offer corporate trainings and teach on meditation retreats to support all kinds of people to connect to deeper peace, enhance creativity, increase joy, and wire their minds for greater well-being and a more positive psychology.
