I LOVE connecting with others. I love to hear others’ stories, find out what makes them tick and help them live their best lives. Friends call me a super connector and collector of people. It’s true. I am happiest when I am interacting with others and helping them.
As an inspirational speaker and trainer, I have the unique opportunity to show others how to shift their mindset and develop resiliency. I call this MOXIE! and my keynote speech “Reclaim Your Moxie” is all about helping others find their joy, passion and community.
I also use my experience with an invisible disability to assist leaders in supporting their team members with unique needs. I use the model C.A.R.E., Confidential, Accommodations, Responsibility and Educate, to provide a framework to do this work in a balanced and sensitive manner.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to grant a dying child’s last wish?
I got to do this at 16 and it forever changed my life. I was a famous character at a well-known theme park in Orlando and I saw hundreds of “Wish Kids,” children who had life-threatening illnesses and wanted to meet me and visit that theme park.
I can’t begin to tell you how profoundly the experience shaped me. I learned early on that life is fragile. That joy is contagious. That giving to others is vital and life-giving. I was lucky enough to share my experience with one special child, Rose, on the TEDx stage. I am full of light. I am full of energy. I am full of enthusiasm. And I always have been. I started speaking in college and I’ve never looked back. As a TEDx speaker, public information officer and adjunct lecturer of public speaking at NC State University, I am thrilled when I can give keynote speeches and provide training programs. I use this platform to energize, excite and inspire others, and I’ve done it my whole life.
With that said, as a single mom, for many years, I didn’t have the option of being an entrepreneur and traveling. I put my dreams of keynote speaking and training on hold for a long time. I spent that time providing local speeches, conducting countless trainings and honing my craft. Then, in 2021, I was given the gift of time and space. I was in a bad car accident that left me with an invisible disability. This opportunity has given me a chance to share my story and inspire others to Reclaim Their Moxie!
As a professional writer of more than 25 years, an educator and a speaker, I have the privilege of helping others each and every day and I use my voice to do so! It’s a dream come true.
So often, we feel overwhelmed, tired and adrift. We pour into everyone and everything and something has to give. What can you do? Stop auditing life and reclaim your MOXIE!
Moxie is hutzpah, sass, determination and perseverance. It’s all about finding joy, purpose and community and when you focus on MOXIE, you can move from auditing life to living life!
After my bad car accident and resulting invisible disability, I did a lot of research and rehabilitation to recover. I found that everyone can reclaim their moxie with evidence-based practices that are joyful and fun.
With the simple acronym, MOXIE, you can create your own roadmap to live your best life.
