Biography

Cathy Ach, MS, PCC, is a Strategy and Change Consultant, as well as a Leadership Coach, with 30 years of experience designing and facilitating mission-critical processes for senior leaders. She has collaborated with many clients to help them define their vision and strategy, translate their long-term plan into annual goals, objectives and measures, and then align their team for successful execution . Cathy is also a Certified Facilitator in Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ practices, and she delivers keynotes and workshops to help people become more conscious and courageous leaders.

Cathy has three adult children, lives just north of Chicago with her husband, and is passionate about traveling, giving back to her community, learning new things and engaging in outdoor activities (including hiking, biking, walking, skiing and playing pickleball).

Passion

Lots of topics ignite my passion, but my superpower is "walking the path" with leaders and helping them do their own hard work so they can realize their full potential and lift others up in the process!

I also love collaborating with leaders and their teams to help them define their "desired future state", translate their vision into reality, and learn and grow together as they execute their plan.

Best Story

The highest praise I've ever received from a client is to have them refer to me as a "Trusted Advisor". The best way to bring this phrase to life is to share the story of my longest-standing client relationship: I began collaborating with this particular executive in a high-growth pharmaceutical company in 2004. Working with her leadership team, we built out a long-term vision and strategy for her newly-formed Sales organization. We have weathered many storms together as she transitioned in and out of four different organizations. It is now 20 years later, and we are still working together. I have helped her create the vision and strategy for every team she has led, develop the leaders on her teams, address specific performance challenges, enhance alignment and engagement among team members, and grow her own skills and capabilities. The results have been remarkable! Building relationships with clients and becoming their "trusted advisor" is the essence of what I love most about my work.

Origin Story

I was working at Baxter Healthcare as the Director of Strategic Change, but nothing on my plate was the least bit "strategic". So I started interviewing for other leadership positions outside of Baxter and discovered many wonderful opportunities. Shortly after that, I went out to dinner with my husband and shared how difficult I thought it would be to decide on just one opportunity. He suggested I consider "creating my own mosaic" and building a portfolio of opportunities for myself. That was on a Saturday night. On Sunday, we stood at the island in our kitchen and dreamt up names for my new company. The next day, I went out on Network Solutions and claimed my domain (as learningparadigms.com). That was 24 years ago today, and I have never looked back!
