Talking about traveling puts a smile on my face. I love to see the world, learn new cultures, try new things. Traveling is another form of education. It opens your mind to the different perspectives other cultures have to offer. It also drives appreciation for where you come from. I travel as often as I can.
A few years ago I hosted a Women in Technology luncheon for Microsoft. I had the incredible opportunity to welcome Satya Nadella to the stage, shake his hand and do his introduction. Thrilling and a career highlight for sure.
Having been an "only" in the room for most of my career, I am fueled to make the future of the workplace more equitable for women. Let's strive to see women fairly represented at all levels, be compensated equally for the work they do and not be judged or criticized when asking for flexible work hours to take care of their family. Women can do it all with the proper support mechanisms in place!
