Dr. Emily Gordon is a licensed clinical psychologist with almost 25 years of experience treating adolescents, young adults and women with disordered eating, body image struggles, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and relationship challenges. Dr. Gordon practices in Natick, MA and is licensed to work in MA, VT and FL, and in addition to her clinical work she is an active speaker, supervisor and consultant. Emily graduated from Northwestern University and earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Yeshiva University in New York. She began her career as a post-doctoral psychology fellow in the Child and Adolescent Program at McLean Hospital, then stayed on in a leadership role at the Adolescent Residential Treatment Center, and finally was part of the clinical team that started the Klarman Center for Eating Disorders at McLean. Dr. Gordon was also a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School for 15 years. Dr. Gordon enjoys speaking and presenting on a wide range of topics including adolescent development and mental health, parenting teenagers, the impact of social media on mental health and body image, self-care and general teaching about eating disorder awareness. Emily believes strongly in the importance of adolescence as a critical time and in the profound impact parents have on their teens emotional well-being.

I recently went zip-lining on a family vacation and didn't realize it would be face first. I did it anyway and used the self-regulation skills (A LOT of breathing and self-talk) I teach others in my practice!
I always knew I wanted to be a psychologist - I was drawn to understanding and connecting with others and being able to offer something to make others lives better. I began my training at McLean Hospital where I learned from experts in mental health and adolescents. For the last 20 years, i have been treating individuals and families in my office, and raising my own family. But we are at a critical time in our country and in our world where we need to understand the role that mental health plays in physical health, academic and professional accomplishment, and in our social fabric.
