Biography

Dr. Minina Johnson is a transformational speaker, author, Identity Alignment Coach, and project management executive whose work helps women reconnect with who they have become, reclaim the ambition they may have minimized, and move forward with greater clarity, courage, and intention.

She is the author of Be ambitiouslyH.E.R.™: A Journey of Becoming Heroic, Edgy, and Resilient, a deeply personal and transformative body of work centered on the belief that women do not have to become someone entirely new to move into their next chapter. Often, the qualities they need have already been developed through the experiences, challenges, choices, and transitions that shaped their lives.

Through her signature frameworks, including Be ambitiouslyH.E.R.™, The Becoming Continuum™, and F.E.A.R. — Focus, Empower, Act, Reclaim, Dr. Johnson creates experiences that challenge women to examine the stories they have accepted about themselves, recognize the strength already embedded within their journey, and make intentional decisions about who they are becoming next.

Drawing from more than two decades of leadership, project management, organizational transformation, and her own journey through motherhood, career reinvention, entrepreneurship, and identity evolution, Dr. Johnson brings both structure and soul to the stage. Her message speaks especially to high-achieving women navigating leadership, transition, ambition, and the quiet question many eventually confront: Who am I now—and what is this season asking of me?

Passion

I am passionate about helping women recognize the woman their life has already prepared them to become.

So many women spend years collecting accomplishments, carrying responsibilities, meeting expectations, and becoming who everyone else needs them to be. Somewhere along the way, they can lose sight of themselves.

What puts a smile on my face is watching a woman have the moment when she realizes, I do not have to start over. I do not have to prove myself again. There is already evidence in my story of who I am.

I love helping women uncover the heroic, edgy, and resilient qualities they have developed through their own experiences and then teaching them how to use those qualities intentionally in the next season of their lives.

For me, transformation begins when a woman stops asking, “Who am I supposed to become?” and starts asking, “What has my life already taught me about who I am?”

Best Story

One of the stories I share from the stage begins with becoming a mother at 17 years old.

At an age when I was still trying to understand who I was, I suddenly had another human being depending on me. That experience changed the trajectory of my life. I learned responsibility early. I learned how to keep moving when I was tired, uncertain, afraid, or completely unsure of what came next.

Over the years, that drive carried me through education, marriage, motherhood, military life, leadership roles, corporate environments, earning my doctorate, becoming a project management professional, and eventually building my own business.

From the outside, it looked like ambition.
But beneath much of that ambition was another pattern: the pressure to keep proving that I belonged.
I kept achieving, accomplishing, and pushing forward, but eventually I had to confront a harder question: If I stopped proving myself, who would I be?
That question changed me.

I began looking at my life differently. Instead of seeing my experiences only as things I had survived or accomplished, I began recognizing what those experiences had developed within me.
Heroic.
Edgy.
Resilient.

That realization became the foundation of Be ambitiouslyH.E.R.™ and ultimately the work I now do with other women.

The lesson I share is simple: your story is not merely evidence of what happened to you. It is evidence of what has been built within you.

Origin Story

My work began long before I had language for it.

For most of my life, I knew how to achieve. I knew how to work hard, take responsibility, lead, solve problems, and keep moving forward. I became a teenage mother, built a career across government and corporate environments, earned advanced degrees, led complex programs, and accumulated the kinds of accomplishments that are supposed to make you feel certain about who you are.

But achievement and alignment are not the same thing.

Eventually, I reached a point where I had to confront the difference between the life I had successfully built and the woman I was becoming.

I realized that many women experience the same tension. We become exceptional at performing our roles—leader, mother, wife, professional, caretaker, entrepreneur—while rarely giving ourselves permission to ask whether those roles still reflect who we are.

That realization became the beginning of Be ambitiouslyH.E.R.™.

I started examining my own story, not simply for what happened, but for what it had developed within me. I saw the heroic choices. The edgy decisions. The resilience that had carried me through seasons I once thought were merely obstacles.

And I recognized something important:
I did not need to reinvent myself. I needed to recognize myself.

That became the foundation of my work.

Today, through my writing, speaking, coaching, and transformational experiences, I help women do the same—to recognize who they have become, activate what is already within them, and intentionally pursue what their next season is asking of them.

Because becoming is not about abandoning the woman you were.

It is about finally understanding why she had to exist in order for you to become the woman standing here now.
