I help businesses build cohesive, diverse, remote teams that deliver sustainability, innovation and results. The project management software I've built helps team leaders assess the strengths of team members and measures inclusivity, leading to higher creativity and performance. The ESG value software I've built helps companies capture and optimize the ESG value of their business partners to improve their reputation, reduce risk, and increase their bottom line, all while making a positive impact on society and the environment.
If our work environments don’t seek out crazy, wonderful, creative ideas from everyone, then how is someone from a different background ever going to fit in? Inclusion rests on this notion that we create work cultures where everyone can contribute their unique perspectives.
I have experienced the struggles of trying to contribute and fit in as the only female software engineer on my team at Hewlett-Packard. I was asked to join the diversity team early on and as I talked to my (white, male) peers, their response was that they did not feel they had a place or a contribution to make in diversity, because they were told they were not diverse. A friend in university said I was a true feminist because I believe in equality of the sexes, not that women are better than men. I am a feminist as Beyonce defines it, “a person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes”.
Inspired to change the world one business at a time, I believe that organizations are most successful when they engage the hearts and minds of everyone on the team. As a software business architect at Hewlett-Packard, I spent 20 years building human-centered solutions and launching new businesses that delivered services globally. I am a successful team leader, growing my expertise in management at one of the best managed companies in the world. I have advised federal government, higher education, non-profit and public technology companies on how to innovate and grow their social and environmental impact through the power of the diverse ideas of all their employees and business partners.
