Dr. Marissa Jablonski is an accomplished water engineer, environmental advisor and plastics-reduction expert whose work has touched more than 45 countries. She started her career in international environmental engineering with a focus on creating sustainable processes for rural communities and urban companies. As a result of decades in the environmental field she discovered some key struggles that keep organizations and businesses from taking action. Combined with her experience and desire to help, she took to the stage with the goal of reaching as many people as possible in the realm of energy, water, plastics reduction and policy change. She has been described as a translator who takes technical and complex topics, makes them understandable, and gives people actionable paths forward.
Marissa is a highly sought after speaker and consultant. Her plastic-free pocket guides, catalog of eco-alternatives, and materials decision matrix are favorites in the industry and have inspired her consulting business across the globe.
Marissa has helped 100+ hotels to grow and message their eco-strengths and collaborate with competitors to grow local and regional environmental champion groups.
I love three things the most:
1) Helping people work with Planet Earth
2) Translating across disciplines to help people understand their why so that they can figure out how to collaborate
3) Working as part of a large global team because we're all in this together!
I run into people in the weirdest places who have seen me speak and have changed their lives because of my message. Probably my favorite was as I was leaving a bathroom stall at a legislative listening session in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, I heard: "You changed my life! I think of you everyday as I lead a more eco-friendly life at work and at home. I love the way you explain things" and then she turned to her friend and said, "You need to see Dr. Marissa Jablonski speak!"
I lead audiences through technical and complex topics and I translate the science in a way that makes it understandable and I give solid actionable paths forward. A recent testimonial from an audience member is:
"Dr. Marissa Jablonski is a powerful and inspiring speaker. With her down to earth explanations and examples of how each of us has a role to play in preserving our environment - she moves people to action. Her audiences leave feeling as though we really are “all in this together.” She makes us feel not only responsible for creating a more sustainable future but also empowered to make the changes that will truly make a difference. Marissa casts a spell that is impossible to escape if you care about this earth and its future."
I was born thinking about Planet Earth and how all 8 billion of us living here share one water, one soil, one air and how we can create a clean, green future where we all have our needs met when we work together. I have spoken to audiences all over the world only to find that it's true-- no one wants to pollute! And we can keep working together to create a future we all want to be a part of.
