Best Story

The emergency buzzer went off, and I ran out of my patient’s room to find a middle-aged man collapsed on the floor, shaking and crying uncontrollably. As the nurses checked his vitals, I knelt beside him and tried to understand what he was saying. Through his sobs I finally heard the words, “She said she will kill herself.” Taken aback, I asked who he meant, and he whispered, “My wife.” In that moment, I realised this wasn’t a medical emergency—it was a life emergency. Just minutes before, he had been pacing the hallway trying to reach the police because his wife, struggling with her mental health, had texted threatening to end her life. The fear and helplessness had overwhelmed him.

Thankfully, we later learned she was safe—but I couldn’t stop thinking about the impact moments like this have on the children in these families. You see his son, who was about 11 years old was sitting in the corner, watching it all unfold, and can you imagine the long-term weight of witnessing repeated crises like this. That day sparked a deeper drive in me to raise awareness of mental health struggles and the silent toll they take on families. It’s what led me to write my song *Lifeline*, and every time I share both the story and the song, people immediately connect—because so many have lived their own version of that moment.

Origin Story

I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, but I’ve also always been passionate about music. For years, I assumed music would remain a hobby—something I did in church and nothing more. Then the pandemic happened. In that season of global fear and uncertainty, I felt a deep call to use my music in a bigger way—to bring hope, light, and healing to people who were struggling. I invested in learning how to write and release music, and in 2020 I released my first album, *Hope*.

As I continued writing songs, I began to feel a growing burden for the families I saw at work, especially the increasing number of children and teenagers facing mental health challenges. I saw the gaps, the stigma, and the silent suffering—and I knew I had to do something. That’s how *The Harmony and Healing Project* was born. Through songs, conversations, and practical content, I began creating space for honest discussions about mental health and equipping parents with tools to support their children when they need it most.
