Best Story

The best story I can share is how I started a business that honors my grandmother's legacy by following my dreams and innovating. My grandmother's battle with breast cancer was a profound and personal experience for me. Witnessing her struggles with finding well-fitting, supportive post-mastectomy bras opened my eyes to a significant gap in the market. Inspired by her strength and resilience, I knew I had to make a difference.

So, I founded Myya, an online platform dedicated to providing breast cancer survivors with perfectly fitting post-mastectomy bras. Myya isn't just a business; it's a mission to offer comfort, support, and dignity to women navigating life after breast cancer. Through innovation, we've created a customizable virtual fitting experience, making it easier for women to find the right fit from the comfort of their homes. And by billing insurance directly, we remove the financial barriers that often stand in the way.

Starting Myya was about more than just addressing a market need—it was about honoring my grandmother's legacy and turning a personal challenge into a beacon of hope for others. Through Myya, I aim to ensure that every woman feels seen, supported, and beautiful, just as my grandmother deserved to feel.

Origin Story

When my grandmother was battling breast cancer, I recognized the challenge of finding well-fitting post-mastectomy prosthetics that matched her skin tone. Nothing made her feel comfortable. She passed away while I was in my sophomore year of college, never having found the perfect fit. Inspired by that experience, I founded Cherry Blossom Intimates and Myya, offering completely customizable, fully insurance-billable breast prosthetics with a state-of-the-art fit experience. I believe in using one's passions and unique perspectives to solve the world's greatest problems.

Driven by the memory of my grandmother, I dedicated myself to creating a solution that would ensure no other woman would have to endure the discomfort and frustration she faced. Myya and Cherry Blossom Intimates are more than businesses; they are a testament to my commitment to innovation and empathy.

Beyond my entrepreneurial endeavors, I am passionate about mentorship and giving back to the community. I serve as a mentor for The North and Girls Who Start, helping to guide and inspire the next generation of leaders. My work has been recognized and featured in Forbes, Yahoo!, Washington Business Journal, Coveteur, Business Insider, District Fray, Washingtonian Magazine, Fast Company, and countless other publications.

My journey is a testament to the power of turning personal pain into purposeful action, and I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of breast cancer survivors and beyond.
